Back to L&D. Good update in OP

edited November 2014 in January 2015 Moms
So today was my 2 week follow up from my pre-term labor admission. They did a cervical exam and the results are not what I wanted to hear. Still just 50% but I've progressed to 3cm dilation and my cervix has gone from 1.5 cm to .4cm in length. They told me to go straight upstairs to L&D (my Dr office is IN the hospital). they wouldn't even let me go home and grab a bag of necessities first. My DH left yesterday and will be gone for 10 days. And my mom (aka back-up plan) left for NYC on Wednesday and won't be back until next Friday.

I completely broke down in the Dr office. This is seriously not how I thought my check up would go. Just waiting to get checked in to L&D and see where to go from here.

Update: They are allowing me to go home on bed rest, I will take the Procardia from home for another 24hrs. I told hubs to hold off on coming home since everything has calmed down and I will be able to relax a lot more without DD running around and jumping all over me.

They only thing they said that I didn't like was that if I go into labor again they can't try to stop it a third time. They can only provide so many tocolytics and baby can't have anymore steroids. 8 more days until 34 weeks, which I'm being told is a big milestone, so that's my goal right now.

You ladies have been amazingly supportive, yet again, thank you all so much!

I'm so sorry! I was thinking they should have at least had you on modified rest. Did you say earlier that your dh took your dd with him? I guess that way at least you wouldn't have to worry about who's taking care of her. I hope you aren't having to figure that out too. Try to rest and relax! Not easy, I know.
  • Yikes! How many weeks are you?

Is there any chance your husband can be sent home early?

Keep us posted on what L&D says.
