being upset + hormones = non stop crying for near 2 hours....

Well so I was all excited that I would get to make my ultrasound appointment yesterday, but instead my doctor was a jerk. He was bad yesterday, his brain was already on vacation even though he wasn't leaving for another 48 hours.

 

Well apparently he is only going to offer me an ultraound if I want to find out the sex of the baby. Apparently the anatomy scan is unnecessary to him. The only reason you have one is to determine sex, and since I am team green I don't get one if he gets his way. He told me to call and make sure insurance would cover it at all.

 

Well so I get off the phone with my insurance company and they don't know if they cover the routine anatomy scan either.... WHAT?! I mean it was their pregnancy nurse that called me and told me I would be having one. The baby books say you have one. The websites say you get one. How does that work? I seriously am sooo frustrated.

 

On top of that my mother said she was dissappointed in my bump, she thought I would actually look pregnant, instead I just look fat. My coworkers all tell me that the anatomy scan is dumb and that my mom is right I do just look fat cause any normal woman would be twice as big as I am by now.

 So now my hormones have had me crying for 2 hours at my desk at work... nothing like thinking you get to see your baby for the first time ever only to find out you might have to wait till its born to do so.

    First, so sorry you are having a bad day. The a/s isnt dumb. Its very natural to want to know if you're expecting a little boy or girl. I think maybe some of your coworkers may be jealous of your pregnancy right now. I'm the first of my close friends to be pregnant(27 yrs old) and I sometimes get this vibe from them as we approach 30.

    Dont worry, it will get better. They are just having a bad day and taking it out on you(which isnt fair but people can be cruel sometimes). I dont have a complete rounded bump yet either. Its getting there but we are only 20 weeks along or less so that is totally normal.

    I hope you have a better day as it goes along. Try to do something later for yourself to relax(maybe starbucks, a walk, or looking at baby stuff?) HTH! Hugs.
