Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 8 weeks. Nothing much new; food aversion to chicken, slight nausea, bloating.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? This Friday. They are checking on the "spot" they saw in the first ultra sound. They want to see if it's change at all, or if it is a twin.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? My appointment on Friday.
4. Monday confession? None
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? 9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds I'm 8 weeks and I still don't really "feel" pregnant. My 1st tri has been pretty mild so far. I'm guessing I'll feel more pg when I start to show? That said I am already attached to this little bean.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 We are considering CDing but I haven't done research to the point of knowing what style we might use. I'm still working on getting DH on board.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike My midwife said that once you see the heartbeat the risk of m/c goes down, although I don't know what percentage. Here is the way I looked at the telling family thing; I told those closest to me; my Mom, Sister, and best friend. I figured that if I was to miscarry those are the people (besides DH) that would be my support system. They would have found out about a m/c either way.
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? ?theresab N/A
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1 I honestly haven't paid much attention, but I probably should. I'm pretty sure I've gained a few pounds.

Wow, so many questions today!
Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 40 weeks 1 day. Nothing new. I think my baseline for "aches and pains" has really changed throughout pregnancy.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Tuesday the 14th. Just another "are you still pregnant?" appointment haha.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? I'm officially on leave from work. So glad to be at home.
4. Monday confession? I used all my energy this morning convincing myself to put on yoga pants instead of pajamas. I'm not sure there's a difference, but it seems like it.
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH

9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dream winds I started feeling pregnant for REAL pregnant once I felt the baby move (around 17 weeks). I KNEW I was pregnant and believed it at about 11 weeks (when we first heard the heartbeat... plus I was so morning sick), but I didn't really "feel" it until the baby moved.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 We're cloth diapering. We bought a bunch of flats and covers for when she's a newborn, along with a couple of pockets and all-in-ones, but we'll wait until she's a bit bigger to really stock up. I imagine we'll use mostly flats/covers at home, and send her to daycare in AIOs. Birth & Beyond in Madison offers a really great cloth diapering class once a month. I think it's $10 per person.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike We told our families at about 7 weeks. My logic was that I wanted to tell the people that I would want to support us if we lost the baby.
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? ?theresab
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1My weight was all over the place. I took forever to start gaining, but once I did, I gained 10 pounds in like 3 weeks. No help, sorry.
14. Questions for next week?
Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?
40w3d today. Nothing "new" -- pain in the pubic bone/joint thing, feeling like my legs are going to fall out of their hip sockets, BH out the wazoo, etc.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?
Today -- I get a BPP, an NST, and a regular exam. And I get all of the same all over again on Thursday. Oh, the joys of being "overdue".
3. What are you looking forward to this week?
Hopefully, having the baby. Barring that, I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow.
4. Monday confession?
I forgot to brush my teeth yesterday and I feel icky about it now.
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH
I'm definitely interested in this answer, too. I will say, I ate a pineapple and a half yesterday, but no baby yet.
6. For ladies who chose natural birth. I am debating on getting a doula, but that is an extra cost OOP $700-$1000 and I don't think it's in the budget. Is it worth getting a doula and shelling out the money or was your OB/Midwife able to follow your birth plan enough to where you wouldn't have needed one? -xxbblueangelxx
I've chosen natural birth and a doula... but I'm a first-timer, so who knows if that's helpful to you. I will say -- my OB is unexpectedly out of town this week (seriously?!! this just came up ~3wks ago!), so if I go into labour while she's gone, I'll have someone I'm unfamiliar with, and having my doula there (along with DH) will be very helpful!
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds
Hard to say. Probably the beginning to middle of the 2nd trimester -- when I started showing (at least to me and DH, since we know my body so well) and started being able to feel kicks.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89
We'll use disposables for the meconium days and switch to prefolds after.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike
Ultrasound/doppler that lets you hear/see the heartbeat. We told 'em at 12wks, though, because that's when we first got to hear the HB!
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1
I...didn't bother much.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?
nothing new. i'm starting to get very hot though. i thought this would've happened sooner.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?
wednesday. i dunno about anything special, hopefully have a baby?
3. What are you looking forward to this week?
having a baby? *fingers crossed*
4. Monday confession?
i've got nothing.
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH
i *think* that you can go in and have them break your water for you, which *should* start labor. but if it doesn't, you'll need the cocktails.
-xxbblueangelxx
i'm not getting a doula, and i hope that my husband can be my advocate
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? -KNemo

8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? -soralette
avoid *going* insane? i'm way past insane.
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds
still don't feel it
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89
dispoable. i don't htink i have the discipline for CDs. i applaud the moms that do.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike
we told our parents/siblings at 6 weeks. some people start telling after they see/hear a heartbeat, but the risk of mc is still there. it's up to you for your comfort level. if you mc, you'd have to explain/talk about it to the people who knew you were pregnant, and that can be tragic/heartbreaking to tell your story over and over. *or* it can be therapeutic. it's up to you.

?amandaleigh1
there's a lot of rough guidelines you can find online. my OB never once commented on my weight--even though occasionally i was a pound or two "ahead of schedule" according to whatever i found online. i also stalled in weight for 3 weeks, and she didn't comment, either. i think as long as you're within reason, you're safe. don't gain super fast, don't lose super fast.

Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?
I've been sleeping a lot more and the m/s has sort of started. I have trouble keeping down foods when there are a lot of conflicting smells around. Going to the grocery store on Saturday was painful and it took an incredible amount of self-will to not hurl in the middle of the produce section. Seriously, new found respect for pregnant woman who go grocery shopping. :P
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?
March 12th is still set as our first appointment.
3. What are you looking forward to this week?
Silly, but I am looking forward to the idea that lbb will be growing fingers and toes. My life is pretty boring. I'll be meeting my brother's sort of girlfriend for the first time this week too though (less excited about that woops.)
4. Monday confession?
We need to figure out how to grow babies in a petry dish.
A friend of mine really pushed us to get a doula, cause a doula can also be there for you and give your husband a chance to rest, particularly, if you are like my friends and had a near 48 hour labor experience in the hospital. We are... not sure if the cost is worth it. I don't think there is any way I can convince my husband that this is worth it.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89
We're considering cloth diapering, for a variety of reasons. Environmentally as well as baby butt rash prevention. We haven't decided on a style yet. Wait, there are styles?!
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike
We told our family early. My mom would never forgive me if I didn't tell her the second we found out, neither would my siblings. And I think his parents would be pretty upset. I've also told a few other really close friends, as well as my church small group (we're all women) cause I need/want the prayers and support. Should anything happen, I'd need the support. Even if nothing happens, the prayers and support are more than welcome.
You didn't add me to October.

Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 5, still have nausea and cramping/tightness.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? February 21st for an informational session with my new OB practice and March 6th for full work-up & u/s.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Hanging out with one of my best friends and getting this rugrat potty trained.
4. Monday confession?
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH
- My MW was amazing and followed my birth plan as best she could. Who's to say if I would have labored vaginally (successfully) if I had a doula, but my MW was not the problem. xxbblueangelxx
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? -KNemo
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? I am not a 2+ mom, but as a 1+ mom, I went through the same feelings. I went on a lot of long walks with my hubby and tried to keep really busy so that I wouldn't think about it all the time. It helped a little, but everyone feels the way you are feeling. It's an unsettling time! -soralette
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? Pretty quickly, both times. I have a lot of uterine "activity." The stretching, pulling, spasms, all remind me that there is a life in there. It was made really real at my first u/s @ 11 weeks. Seeing that little human in there really solidifies that you're PG! ?dreamwinds
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? Sposies.?jhunter89
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? I'm a "tell right away" girl, myself. My family and friends are a huge support system, and I would need them if something were to go wrong. I don't think I could handle dealing with m/c on my own. -janet&mike
I gained a ton of weight from TTC and work stress. I did the first time too. I just tried to keep my cravings in check. I try not to eat past 7 PM. I try to remember that I only need 300 extra calories for baby. That's a bagel, or a couple large glasses of milk, not a McDonald's Extra Value Meal. It was hard to get that through my head the first time, but I am being mindful of it this time. Your weight will fluctuate during PG. That's just the way it is. I gained 5 lbs in between appointments, and then lost 5 the next time. GL!?amandaleigh1

Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? In week 13, I've been getting weird hip/butt pain if I lay on my right side too long and a little crampy as my body makes room for baby!
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? On the 20th, hopefully my little sister-in-law will be able to come and hear the hearbeat with us!
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Girls day with my mom and BFF.
4. Monday confession?
-xxbblueangelxx I think a doula is a great resource for mom's using an OB in a hospital who want a natural birth, they will advocate for you, yes, but they also know all sorts of pain management techniques and will help your husband to support you. They are cheaper than epidurals!
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds I'm still not really, though the bump starting to poke through helps!
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike I know seeing/hearing the heartbeat knocks it way down.
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1 I think if you're eating well and enough, staying active and feeling good there isn't a huge reason to be concerned. It's common to lost weight in the 1st tri
Ah crap sorry! There were so many questions and changes this week it was very confusing. I'll edit the post right now.

Probably this past month. Since I'm already a large lady, the belly and people noticing didn't really happen till a few weeks ago. Then feeling the movement was about 18 weeks too.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89
I plan on using disposables. Honestly, I'm too lazy and grossed out by using cloth diapering. I'm okay with throw-up/spit-up but poo.... heck no.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike
I told family at the end of the 4th week but warned them about the risk of misscarriage. I told friends about week 7-8. I would have waited longer for family and friends, but DH is a motor mouth and would have spilled the beans. I would say 8 weeks would have been the earliest I would want to say anything, otherwise week 12.
?amandaleigh1

5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH
I was med-free, but early. You might want to make a new post about this, there are a number of birth center moms that aren't on the checkin anymore.
-xxbblueangelxx we did not for #1 because I we had a midwife that was there the whole labor (and ended up with a great nurse) I'm considering it for #2 because we will be with an OB. You could look at student doulas too.
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? -KNemo n/a
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? -soralette n/a
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds I don't remember with #1, but I just feel so off right now that I know something is different.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 disposables
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike "they" say it is reduced once you see the heartbeat. we told our parents this past weekend (week 8) but we have already had an ultrasound and saw the heartbeat. Haven't told rest of family yet.
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? ?theresab she is still going strong, but I try to limit the time.
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1 I wasn't really ever concerned about this. I ate what my body needed.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 15 weeks, heartburn from hell, and rib pain? What is this? I also have a sore stomach/cramps all the time it seems like.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Next Friday, I will be scheduling the anatomy scan! Woot woot!
3. What are you looking forward to this week? My appointment on Friday. <----That.
4. Monday confession? 2 of the mom's at Tristen's pre school think my name is Renee, which is very odd. Nichole sounds nothing like Renee, but I haven't corrected them yet. It's bothering me though.
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? 9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds I still don't feel pregnant, other than not sleeping well, and have a slight belly. I haven't felt baby move yet, or anything.
Ditto Dawn! We ended up spilling the beans to everyone at 8 weeks anyway because DH was just too excited to hold it in.
?amandaleigh1 There's not much I am doing, I weigh myself and I am definitely UP but I'm not that concerned. Once the weather warms up I plan to go on daily long walks.
14. Questions for next week? N/A
You took me off the list!
Baby boy was born Friday night, we are now home and getting settled into our Circus of life.
Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 8, same old same old.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Still nothing made.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Dinner date with DH on Friday (our belated Valentine's dinner.)
4. Monday confession? DH has been sleeping in the guest room for a while since I go to bed so early (I feel worst at night) and while I miss him I kind of like having the extra space.
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH N/A had to have a C section.
-xxbblueangelxx I hired a doula when I was hoping for a vaginal (and possibly natural) delivery but a big part of that was because DH was freaking out and she was support for both of us. She was in the room during the C section and was a great source of comfort while I was freaking out beforehand, plus she helped me with postpartum lactation stuff and helped me pump at the hospital while the little one was in the NICU. I can't say whether she would have helped me stick to my plan if I hadn't had to have a scheduled C but I know if I try for a VBAC I will definitely hire her again. DH will definitely need the support; if you think your DH might not be in a completely calm frame of mind it might really help.
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? -KNemo N/A
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? -soralette N/A
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds First time, when I started to feel sick constantly, and then especially when I began to show. This one it really hasn't hit me yet although I am already feeling sick.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 We CD and love it. We use a varied mix- some fitteds (often with wool covers), some pockets, some AIOs and some AI2s. For the NB stage we did prefolds and a few KL0s but this time we will do more fitteds. I would highly recommend taking a class to really get some hands on experience with the different types, otherwise it can be confusing. The CD board has a great FAQ if you haven't seen it yet. Do NOT get all 1 kind of diaper, though, you may hate it and/or it may not work for your child. I got a wide variety of types and then added more of what I liked as time went by.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike I told my folks pretty early, like 5-6 weeks, but that was due to a special circumstance. The ILs and the rest of the family found out just before 8 weeks, since we wanted to tell everyone at Christmas. We'd seen a heartbeat so we felt pretty good although this time we are waiting to tell family and the world until 12 weeks, when my family will be visiting me, so I can do it in person this time (last time it was over the phone since they live across the country.)
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? ?theresab Still nursing at 18 months/8 weeks and no signs of stopping although my milk may be decreased in supply. I will not initiate weaning and hope to tandem nurse.
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1 I didn't really sweat it, I saw midwives and just went by what they said. There was never any concern about things even though I lost in first tri.
14. Questions for next week? 2nd or more time moms, how did you decide on a VBAC or repeat C? I feel like I need to choose now (for midwife vs OB care) and am not ready at all.
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 26, and very sore! Turning over in bed is getting difficult!
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Next week, GD test :-/
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Nothing much, same old, same old.
4. Monday confession?
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH I'm not in this situation, but things I'm keeping in mind once I hit 41 weeks: lots of walking, bouncing on a birth ball, nipple stimulation (want to have my pump before baby in case this is needed), good ol' fashioned sex (it got the baby in, and it can help get the baby out! ;-)
-xxbblueangelxx I'm having the same dilemma, sorry, no help. However, keep in mind a doula isn't there to help you fight your OB/midwife (though she can if needed), she's there to support you in your labor. She can provide relief, suggestions, physical support, etc. which an OB/midwife won't as much.
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? -KNemo
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? -soralette
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds When I could feel my stomach growing at the start of the second trimester.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 Disposables, but I'm hoping to try EC so we won't be in them long!
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike No other milestones, but it depends on your comfort. We told my mom when we were 4 weeks, and the rest of the parents in the next few weeks, but asked them to keep it a secret until 12 weeks. My thought was if I had a m/c I'd rather they know and were able to support me, but I wouldn't want the whole world to know.
?amandaleigh1 Your OB should stuff it :-/ *cough* sorry. Anyway, overall weight gain is something to keep track of, but more important is how healthy you're eating and how your body is doing. I lost 7 pounds in my first trimester at my lowest point. 2 weeks ago, at 24 weeks, I finally got back up to my pre-pregnancy weight. In the last 2 weeks I have gained 4 pounds. My mws aren't concerned, because they know I'm eating healthy and baby girl and I are doing great! Overall, shoot for their recommended gain, but not every person exactly follows the "average" curve, and that's not a bad thing.
14. Questions for next week? We're considering looking for a student doula, any advice on how to find one around here?I'm so sorry. For some reason I thought you already announced on TB. Clearly this week's check-in did not go well.

3. What are you looking forward to this week? - getting my rings back from the jeweler (I have a diamond band for each of my kiddos and I had Jake's engraved with his name and birthdate and had Hailey's resized since DH bought it 1/2 a size smaller than I normally wear)
4. Monday confession? - after I'm done filling this out I'm getting off the couch and getting a cupcake
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH - n/a

7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? -KNemo - n/a
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? -soralette - the last few weeks with Jake I just tried to keep busy and distracted so that I didn't focus on how badly I wanted to be done. I still whined like crazy though.
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dreamwinds - when the m/s started I definitely felt pregnant
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 - disposable
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike - we ended up telling earlier than planned both times because of extenuating circumstances. With Jake we told at 10 weeks right after our 1st u/s because I almost passed out at work the week before and it was hard keeping it a secret. Same circumstances occurred this time as well. There are specific patients you can't take care of as a nurse while you're pregnant and it was really hard trying to hide everything. So I ended up telling people around 8 weeks.
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? ?theresab - n/a
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. ?amandaleigh1 - I haven't really given it much thought. I usually gain a few lbs the first trimester, steadily gain about 1lb a week during the 2nd trimester, then the first few weeks of 3rd trimester both times I've gained 9lbs in about a month. It's crazy. Then after that I gained about 1lb a week until the end with Jake. I gained 37lbs overall and my m/w was totally fine with it.

Pregnant after 4 losses via IVF/FET with daughter "Gamma" (EDD Oct 2, 2019)
TTCing Questions
1. What cycle are you on? Waiting to O or 2WW? 38th month, 2WW
2. What are you looking forward to this week? This weekend starts the Oscar Movie Marathon (at select AMC theaters). Over the next two Saturdays DH and I will see every movie nominated for Best Picture this year. That's 9 movies within two days. We did it last year and it was a lot of fun.
3. Monday confession? Not really a confession, but I am just so excited because we are on the schedule to do IVF this summer. Three years of infertility and now we can finally move forward with treatment. I've been on this message board since before we were TTC so that I could ask questions and get prepared. I can't believe that after all this time, (seeing countless people start TTC, conceive, have a baby, and then TTC and get pregnant with #2, in the time we've been trying for #1) we're finally getting so close!
4. Questions for next week? None.
Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Almost 31 weeks. Feel pretty good, but I'm definitely slowing down a bit.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Next appointment is on Wednesday. First of my every 2 weeks appointments. Nothing special except I'm meeting the new midwife in my group.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Three day weekend!
4. Monday confession? In a week of potty training my son I have eaten the better portion of two huge bags of M&Ms (we use them as potty rewards)...I'm going to gain 5 lbs with potty training!
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. -JessieJH I didn't go over my EDD last time, but this time I plan to start doing the Miles Circuit (from 37 weeks on) and maybe accupuncture. The Foley catheter might be another option.
-xxbblueangelxx Hiring a doula was the best thing we ever did. I credit her with my fantastic med-free birth. A doula is invaluable for helping you labor at home as long as possible. If you are comfortable at home you will have less time to think about caving to the meds. I do not think a doula is about making sure your birth plan is followed, it's about having someone with you the entire time who is focused on your comfort and stress and who is very familiar with normal labor. My husband was very supportive, but it was extremely hard for him to see me in pain and he would have rushed me to the birth center 30 minutes into my labor if we were alone. Instead I showed up 8cm dialated and ready to go! You DO NOT have to spend $700-1000. When my son was born I found a doula who was still working towards her certification. They have to do so many births. She was still fabulous, but we only paid $250. Let me know if you want me to get some names for you of new doulas, my doula (who is now certified and more expensive) is really connected with the doula community.

10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 We will use the cloth diaper service during my maternity leave and then probably switch to disposables when I go back to work.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike We told our parents and very close friends pretty early on. We knew we wouldn't have minded telling them if we miscarried.
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? ?theresab
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. 1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Wk. 25. Some Braxton Hicks contractions the last couple days and sore hips.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? 3/9 I think. Regular check up and my 1 hr. glucose.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? My Lucy is turning 2!! I can't believe it.
4. Monday confession? I get banana splits from DQ on a regular basis now...like, 2-3 a week.
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. N/A
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? I've been checking out the ICAN website, and have looked into taking a VBAC class. Obviously, I haven't done it yet, but I'm hopeful. The best resource really has been some frank discussions with my OB.
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? I worked up until 5 days before my c/s. Then, I got a pedicure, took baths, read magazines, DH and I went out to dinner. I did all the things that are so hard to do now that I have a kiddo at home.
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? When I started puking around 6 weeks, and then again I started feeling the baby move around 16-17 wks.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? Disposables.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? I told my family at 5 wks. We told DH's family at 6 wks. Told other family around 12 weeks. I was glad that my mom knew early because we had complications during my first pregnancy and I would have wanted her support had things not worked out.
12. Anyone else nurse while pregnant? Did your older child wean (and when)? Was it parent or child initiated? N/A
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? I gained several pounds in my first 12 weeks, but that was around the holidays, and then in the last month, I lost 2. My OB is not pleased. I just keep an eye on the scale and make sure it isn't going up too quickly.
14. Questions for next week?
Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Wk. 30. Lower back pain. I've been trying to not complain about any pregnancy-related discomfort to DH, but finally caved and whined about my back this weekend. He's been much sweeter since then, who knew? Guess I should complain more often...
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Wednesday, regular checkup as far as I know. Already found out that I passed the 2 hour glucose test!
3. What are you looking forward to this week? A special Valentine's Day dinner at home with DH (he's cooking lamb chops, my favorite).
4. Monday confession? This weekend we stopped for milkshakes at ***'s and I ordered 2 bc I thought they looked small...
5. If you went 'med-free' and were over your EDD- what did you do to get labor going or what did your team do? I'll ask my midwives today, but I'm curious about how late I can go and what they'll try since the usual cocktails that the hospital provides are not an option at a birth center. N/A
I'm having this debate too, though more whether I need/would appreciate the support or whether my husband can be supportive enough.
7. For those of you that have successfully VBACd, what books or other resources would you recommend? N/A
8. 2+ moms and other February ladies: How do you avoid going insane waiting for labor to magically start? I worked up until 5 days before my c/s. N/A
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? When I felt naseous during the 1st tri, then ever since 20 weeks when I could feel her move. From about 12 to 20 weeks I hardly felt pregnant and kept worrying myself that it wasn't real, even though my pants got too tight and stopped fitting during that time.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? Cloth, starting with prefolds and covers for the newborn stage until she grows into one-size pockets.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? We waited until ~10 weeks to tell anyone, except my BIL & SIL. My husband couldn't wait past 8 weeks and was going to burst if he didn't share the news with someone, so we told his brother. I didn't want to tell my in-laws which meant I couldn't tell my parents either without upsetting DH. Since they were coming to visit at 10 weeks, we waited and told them in person. I told friends and my boss at around 13 weeks, then posted on facebook at 18.5 weeks after the big ultrasound once we knew we were having a girl. I liked having it be a secret between DH and me for a while.
I try to eat when I'm hungry and mostly healthy foods. So far that's worked fine and I haven't heard anything about my weight.

3. What are you looking forward to this week? Long weekend!

11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? -xxbblueangelxx I have yet to give birth yet, but my plan right now is to get a doula. I think my DH will have plenty on his plate, having a decimated advocate and helper makes sense to me.
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? ?dream winds Some days I don't even now. I am starting to feel movements and that is helping me feel pregnant.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? If you're cd'ing, what style are you thinking of using? ?jhunter89 We plan to cloth diaper. I will consult with my sisters who have done it. I think one of them is using fuzzy bunz.
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? -janet&mike I told my immediate family and close friends right away because they all knew that I did IVF-- I told them the news with grave reservations though, and I think I took it too far as my mom seems to think that my pregnancy is somehow more high risk or different since I conceived with IVF.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 32; my gallbladder started giving me problems, hands going numb, severe swelling. As of yesterday they are not allowing me to work any more.

4. Monday confession?
9. When did you start actually feeling pregnant? I've felt him from early on; about 15 weeks. I'm lucky because he is in a little ball so I don't have a lot of pain for him. As of week 30 I've started feeling weighed down a little but I think it's due to working 2 jobs and being pregnant. I think now that I'm not working my swelling will reduce and I'll still have my energy.
10. Are you cloth diapering or using disposables when baby comes? disposable
11. I really don't want to wait until 10-12 weeks to share with our family. Any other milestones that reduce the risk of miscarriage? When did you tell your family? My Aunt and cousin had a dream that I was pregnant and my mom had me take a test. It was positive and I went to the doctor the following week and I was 5 weeks pregnant.
13. How do you make sure you are on track re weight gain? During the first part of my pregnancy I was losing a lot of weight and I got in trouble. Some visits I gain a few pounds, some I stay the same, and every now and then I lose. My pants still fit, my shirts however are a different story!
14. Questions for next week? Any recommendations on Doctors in Seattle? I've made an appt. with Dr. McKeever on Madison St., she's part of Seattle OB GYN. I'm moving up to Seattle at 35 weeks so I'm going to need to see a doctor that's close and ASAP after I land.
LOL! I didn't even notice this until you pointed it out. Too funny!
I need to be removed from the list, please. My pregnancy was found to be ectopic, and I've been given methotrexate to m/c.
