Re: TTT

  • 1) DW and I already echanged Valentine's and that makes me kind of sad. I like to wait (hence why her present was hidden in my trunk for a week) but she hates surprises and did not even wait until we left the store, just handed me the box.

    2) Ky is at daycare today and they are having a Valentine's party and I feel like a heel because she went with nothing. I should have called last night when I knew we were using the back up care and asked.

    3) DW is 2ww right now and is so impatient and obsessive. She reads some random 2ww blog forum thing like all day.

    4) I have NO idea what to make for dinner. I am open for suggestions.

    5) I feel like laundry never ends in my house. I do at least a load a day and there are only three of us!!

    6) I usually do chores around the house on my lunch break and I just do not feel like it today but I know if I don't it will all just be there when I get home.

    7) I think I found a sitter in our area that I like. I am scheduling an interview with her today. She can start next week and is only 2x more than what we pay now v everyone else / centers that are 3-5x more.

    8) I have zero motivation at work which is semi okay since this is a slow time of year and I go almost an hour between calls.

    9) #8 explains why I have read 6 books in 7 days.

    10) I need caffeine.

  • 1. Gwen and I have another cold.  Crying  I'm so ready for spring.

    2. I ordered Gwen's birthday cake today! I can't believe my baby is going to be 2 in just 2 days!

    3. Tonight for dinner: steak with a red wine garlic sauce (the sauce here) and parmesan crusted asparagus

    4. I gave Trav a dozen chocolate covered strawberries (he let me try 1... okay, 3... they are AMAZING) and am making him dinner. He got me some roses and this great bag made from recycled materials.

    5. The strawberries arrived and a few were broken, Trav let the company know and they are sending him a dozen more for free!!

    6. Not that we need to eat 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries... but seriously, so good. Angel

    7. I can't wait for Gwen's party this weekend. Trav's brother, SIL, and our nephew are coming out from Ohio; and one of my good college friends is coming down from RI with her daughter. I so psyched to see everyone!! I can't wait to see the kids playing together.

    8. My boss is away until next Wednesday. But he emailed about 500 things to do over the weekend. Someone needs to remind him that we don't need him to fill our time while he's gone, our regular jobs do that just fine!!

    9. I'm done pumping regularly at work. Its weird, but nice.

    10. My nose hurts.

  • 1. I'm bitter about the way my job is ending. Not good for my motivation to wrap things up and prep things to pass on.

    2. My boss is way beyond bitter about it (decisions were made above him) - he's actually kind of ragey. It makes me feel appreciated.

    3. I slept so well last night without Jen climbing over me to pee. Sorry Jen :) I ordered a better support pillow for her so maybe she won't feel like she has to sleep against the wall to stay on her side.

    4. I'm sick of hearing about this birth control issue. I understand why it's important, I'm just personally/emotionally tired of it.

    5. I'm dropping the car off to be shipped next week and still no word on final drop place and time.

    6. So relieved that Lucky made it cross-country in cargo with no problems. Jen said she was her usual happy self when they reunited.

    7. I ordered macarons to be delivered to my mom's house for Jen today. This is the last sugar/sweet thing I'm buying her until the babies come. We both need to lay off.

    8. My BFF's last day of radiation treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma was yesterday. YAY REMISSION!

    9. I have nothing against Valentine's Day, in fact I rather like it, but I'm enjoying the #candyheartrejects trend on Twitter.

    8. i'm getting lunch early today.

    9. the only thing we are waiting on for the adoption ppwk is our last recommendation.  It annoys me that its taking so long for the person we asked to complete it. but its DW's boss so we have to tread lightly Hmm

    10. it just occured to me that i havent heard from DW all day. that never happens...off to text her...

yumm! let me know what time I should be over :)

  • 1. 2mommies - send your laundry this way, I don't think I would notice the extra load.

    2. J goes to work at 9:30 which means she will get off between 7:30 and 9:30 tonight, looks like Valentine's dinner is going to be kid centered, now I need to figure out what to make.

    3. I said last week that I liked ages 3-4 with A but, you know, I'm really enjoying ages 7-8, A says the funniest things these days.

    4. I have a farty, poopy baby in my lap and each time she farts, she smiles the most adorable smile at me.

    5. I need to make an Ikea run, I need to buy a bedding set for either the crib or toddler bed that coordinates with the set we already have.

    6. Apple started laughing this past weekend, it was so sweet I cried.

    7. Iz's behavior has gotten better, thank goodness, we still have some work to do but for now I am beyond happy with the change.

    8. J's brother set up a drifting ride along for A's birthday gift, we had to tell him that she can't do it.

    9. Our gardener is great, he always shows up, does a wonderful job, and is friendly.  If the owner of the house decides not to pay for his services, I'm pretty sure we will hire him.

    10. The loquat tree is fruiting, what am I going to do with all the fruit?

  • 1. I woke up at 5:30 this morning for no apparent reason.

    2. Now I am exhausted.   In order to combat this I stopped to buy coffee on my way to work.  Apparently the DD I chose is majorly sketchy and swarmed with homeless people.  Must find new coffee spot...

    3. RE's office is on my angry list.

    4. We're going to play games and not use our computers tonight in honor of V-day.  And make spaghetti.

    5. I still haven't done anything about decorating my office.

    6. I have a bunch of sick days that are going to expire in June, and I'm superly tempted to use them...

    7.  Evertime we see one thing on Broadway it makes me want to spend a lot of money and see more.

    8. It's much harder to take advantage of rushes/lotteries/other deals as a non-student and considering the annoying location of my new job.

    9. Three day weekend is coming, I can feel it!

    10. I have about 5 links on my computer open about learning Spanish...but haven't done much with it.

  • 1.  I hope L didn't do anything for V-day for me. I had the kids make her cards this weekend, but they really weren't into it so they scribbled on it (what they do when they don't want to draw/color) and wrote their names.

    2. L went to the doc this morning since she just can't seem to shake this cough from the sickness we both had all last week. Good thing she went. Bronchitis.

    3.  I hope the kids enjoy their lunch: heart shaped PB&J, pink (strawberry yogurt), and fresh strawberries. For morning snack heart shaped Kashi and pink (strawberry) applesauce. Plus, I cut out a bunch of hearts and put them in their lunchbox. :)

    4. We put together a little bag of goodies for them (chocolate frogs from Harry Potter, Lego minifigure, and a Bakugan)

    5. I wish they didn't have tae kwon do tonight since we get home so late on those nights.

    6. I requested Thai for dinner. We are going to try a new take out place near our house. I hope it is yummy.

    7.  I was not at work yesterday and came back to 18 voicemails and 34 e-mails. WTH?

    8. Like CT, we also need a getaway. But with L's dissertation gearing back up (she's been on hiatus waiting from her chairs to review it) and finances it isn't in the cards right now.

    9. We need to make a decision about our summer vacation destination soon.

    10. Off to weed through those voicemails and e-mails.

  • 1. This morning I gave E a few V-day treats and a small red sock monkey. My kid has too many stuffed animals but what kid doesn't need a cute little sock monkey?

     2. E gave me a heart shaped page that she had drawn a butterfly and hearts on and wrote "I lav u momme" on. Melt my heart. I brought it to work and hung at my desk.

    3. Last night E said we should do something fun tonight. I told her maybe we'll go out to dinner. She seems to think we should do more than that but it's a school night and there will be homework.

    4. We are getting back in the groove of going to the gym since I can pick E up so much earlier now that I'm working closer to home. I did 3 miles on the treadmill last night. Yay!

    5. My realtor called yest and said the bank approved my offer but the listing broker is still asking for more fees than we agreed to a few weeks ago. Grumble. Hoping I hear more today.

    6. I don't deal well with feeling like dudes are jerking me around for money. I texted my agent that last night and he texted me back LOL.

    7. Speaking of...new cable/phone/internet company came by last night and they can get me a deal saving me some $ and offer better services. Apparently the phone that E's dad and I had like 4 freaking years ago has my name linked to it and they can't unlink it. The bill is in collections for $189. Really???

    8. Unless that bill gets paid off I can't make the switch. That will be a fun conversation.

    9. My part-time office sharing person is on the phone a lot. This office is too small for 2 people and phone convos.

    10. I hope everyone has a great week!

  • S ACTUALLY POSTED THIS:

    1. The Kiddos and I are back home. It was so cute the way Little Man put his hand over his mouth and giggled with joy when he saw C. Peanut had a HUGE smile.
    2. C's Valentine's gift to me was a freshly painted re-done bedroom. New bedding, new drapes, and NO BABY furniture! We have an adult bedroom! It is a WONDERFUL gift.
    3. Sadly, I never had a chance to buy C anything during the visit with my Mom.
    4. The Kiddos were so cute this past weekend. They did the Cha Cha slide as best they could...everyone loved it!
    5. I am so happy that the Kiddos really liked their uncle...he made them laugh so hard.
    6. It is sad to see how much pain my Mom is constantly in. I am glad I had a chance to give her a couple of massages.
    7. C and I need to paint the rest of the house...I wonder if she knows what she started...SMILE.
    8. I am working from home today, but I am finding it hard to get focused.
    9. Vacation gathering anybody?
    10. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

  • 1. I haven't read the others yet.

    2. I have been at my job 6 months. It is ok, but I'm already planning my exit strategy. i need more flexibility with coming and going, working from home, etc. I'm on a 3 yr plan in my mind. We'll see how that goes.

    3. My neck hurts.

    4. I've realized I have ZERO motivation to lose weight and I think I'm going to let calorie counting go for a while.

    5. I should work on my diet coke problem in the meanwhile.

    6. I'm excited to see the babies tonight.

    7. I get irrationally stabby when I read about people's babies who STTN (or only get up once) at 8 weeks. Ours are 6 mo and barely there. Especially when they got pregnant fast. its not fair of me at all, but sometimes I want to strangle the super lucky woman/en on another board I'm on.

    8. I need about $100k to make us comfortable. Pay off our loans and do a couple of renos. OK, $150k. Throw in 2 new cars, and we'll have nothing to fret over for a while.

    9. I hate to sell my car. It only has 149k on it. But it is a two door. And I want a minivan.

    10. We need more mom friends I think.

  • 1. Kel and I just had our Valentine's date Smile We are trying this regular lunch date thing to get more couple time and it is really nice.

    2. She gave me really pretty earrings that Eli helped pick out--I love them.

    3. I hope she likes her gift tonight. I got her some comfy lounge around clothes and chocolate that she likes.

    4. I also made her photo coasters on travertine tiles from the kids. Any excuse to use pictures of the kids Smile

    5. Eli had a party in his class today so I made 25 bags of homemade pink clay cut into hearts in cellophane bags with a photo valentine from Eli on top. They came out pretty cute, but man they were a lot of work!

    6. Lex's class wasn't supposed to exchange valentines, but one mom brought them in.  So...stupid mommy guilt sent me running to tar.get this morning to by rattle balls for the class.

    7.  I am soooo tempted to leave work early and grab a nap--we are having some major sleep issues.

    8.  Kel wants to transition Lex to sleeping independently even though Eli is still in the bed.  I think Lex might do better on her own, but I feel bad about it.

    9.  I am slow at work right now--this never happens.

    10. Maybe I should see if I can get in for a haircut...

  • 1. I started writing this in my head at 4am when I was up with sicky Punkin.

    2. It's still not going to be interesting.

    3. We were going to go to a drop-in play group, but he wasn't feeling well, and I didn't want to be late for our first time going.

    4. I was pleasantly surprised by the pics JCPenney took yesterday. Not so impressed with the photographer's personality, though.  Oh, are we interrupting your day?

    5. I had a little panic attack when I found out I wasn't going to get the pics the same day.  I found something else to get for his mom.

    6. We did V-Day yesterday--low key, but nice.

    7. When women become grandmothers are they automatically required to end the phone call with "give the baby a kiss for me?"  My mom is sweet, though.

    8. We are having company this weekend--two women and their two toddlers.  It should be a blast of a full house.

    9. I have not made going to the only-held-once-a-month orientation for the children's museum a priority.  Now, I wish I would have--we could have gotten free membership for all of us.  Now, I think all 7 of us will need to pay on Sat.

    10. I did some (small) sewing during naptime the other day & it was nice.  I should do that more often.  But, today I am here. And menu planning for one gluten-free, one vegetarian, two toddler bunch.

  • Ok, this is really me (C). Imagine my surprise when I came on to see I'd already posted a TTT, lol! (note to self: sign out on home computer!) Annnnnnyway...

    1. MY WIFE AND BABIES ARE HOME! I am SO happy to have them home from their trip to Grandma's house! I swear the babies grew up in the 4 days they were gone.
    2. I finally set up S.kype while they were gone, and while I couldn't see the kiddos (they didn't have a camera on their end), I did get to hear them and they got to see me.
    3. It was both incredibly sweet and incredibly heartbreaking to hear Little Man saying "in! in!" when we were chatting. He still thinks he can go "in" to a phone or computer to be where the other person is.
    4. (As a side note, you should see him hold his foot and try to stick it into the phone's screen when we call his grandparents-- so cute!)
    5. I can't believe I actually pulled off S's surprise Valentine's day present (the aforementioned total overhaul of our master bedroom).
    6. Thank you, CT, for putting the idea in my head of redoing our bedroom once the kiddos moved in to their own room. I've been waiting to do it ever since I saw your blog post last year. :)
    7. I need to get moving on a) losing weight and b) doing better at work, but I have little motivation to do either.
    8. I am addicted to Pin.terest. Addicted, I tell you!
    9. Working for the federal gov't, we are inundated with acronyms. This afternoon I got an email entitled "BSC minutes." Love it!
    10. Off to get the kiddos from daycare! YAYYYYYYY!

  • 1. Work is discouraging right now. I LOVE what I do, but I got a promotion - sort of - and I'm having a hard time adjusting to my new role (mainly because it really feels like a sort-of promotion). It's SO hard to depend on your job for your ability to be in the country. I would be so much more productive - and more of an asset to my organization - if I could speak my mind without being worried about p*ssing people off.

    2. I'm a Valentine's Day bum. I didn't get K a gift. I have all these great gift ideas, but the whole thing got lost among everything else.

    3. Thankfully (?), she didn't get a gift for me, either. She also had an idea for a gift. *sigh of relief*

    4. My parents are REALLY off their rocker. I actually got an email from my mother, after everything, just saying "Health, joy, and love. Happy birthday. Kisses to J." Uhhhhh, what? Remember what happened A MONTH AGO? Are you serious?

    5. My birthday was awesome. Steak! Yay!

    6. The friend who didn't come for dinner on Friday is coming tomorrow. I'm glad she's giving us another chance after K's blunder on Friday. Tongue Tied

    7. I had the most ridiculous moment yesterday when I realized J is SO close to being 18 months. I had actually been counting backwards and saying, "he's 16 months. He'll be 15 months in a few days." That shows you a) where my head is, and b) that I'm really not comfortable with this growing-up-so-fast business.

    8. My program assistant is kind of driving me crazy. She's VERY bright, but she's also VERY young. I just don't have time to coach her through every. single. thing. It's getting hard.

    9. Our whole Valentine's dinner plan had to be switched at the last minute because neither of us had time to buy the ingredients. Leftovers it is... (At least it's very fancy leftovers of my very fancy birthday dinner yesterday.)

    10. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

  • 1. I'm late to this party, oops!

    2. I had the worst day at work today in a long time. My work supervisor, the executive director of the nonprofit I work for, is awesome, but the "volunteer committee" that is supposed to co-supervise me is simply AWFUL.

    3. I can't wait to leave said job. Only 5 more months. Deep breaths.

    4. I am so happy we are finally moving!!!

    5. Moving cross-country is stressful. As happy as I am to move, I'm terrified about all the things that could go wrong.

    6. I have to learn how to drive before we move. Blech. I feel like such a fake adult without a license.

    7. I wish S and I could have a fun, romantic valentine's day. It's just not in the cards this year...

    8. ...because we are broke! Boo.  Three more days until pay day!

    9. Chessie's puppy class is tonight, so at least we'll be getting out of the house.

    10. I have tomorrow off  from work - YAY!! Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
