1st day back to work...

And I am doing ok:) Knowing DD is safe (with my Aunt) it has been very easy for me! Although I am sleeeeepy because LO decided to have a party from 1a to 5a and the alarm went off at 530am lol....I will say having everything ready the night before helps a ton...ironically we had everything together but then could not find the car keys for 20mins go figure!! Best of luck to you Ladies going back to work:)

Re: 1st day back to work...

  • Its my first day back also. Its been very easy for me too. LO is with DH and tomorrow she will be with my sister. I also was running a little late because in the middle of me getting ready I had to BF her. Just wondering are you EBF? If so are you pumping at work and how often?

  • So glad your first days back went well...I am dreading going back in a week and am crying every day. I am not sure how well I will cope with going back.  I have only been away from my LO for 2 hours a few times.

Any advice on how to be better prepared for the separation???

    TTC since May 2010; BFP#1 11/9/10; M/C 12/27/10; BFP#2 03/15/11; EDD 11/24/11 Very happy! Baby Girl was born 11/21/11. Beautiful and healthy!
  • Today was my first day back also and it was so much better than I thought it would be. Getting back into the swing of things really helped, and knowing that LO was safe with her grandmother made things a little easier. And the day went super fast knowing what I was coming home to. We also were about 10 minutes late this morning, but it was to be expected.

  • Today was my first day back as well and all in all, I think everyone did really well. My husband dropped the LO off and picked him up from the babysitter and I was really glad he only spent half a day there. I feel really comfortable with her so that makes it a lot easier to leave him. Getting back to work wasn't so hard either. I feel like I have a new purpose. I was out the full 12 weeks, and tho much changed in my absence, it was nice to know so many of my co-workers missed me. One thing is for sure, getting up and getting into the office as early as possible is a huge motivator for me. The earlier I get in, the earlier I can leave and get back to my son.

  • No I FF only. PP I would advise try getting away a little longer than 2hrs...maybe try 2.5 then 3 and so on. DD being with a family member made it wayyyy easier for me. If it was daycare I probably would have not left the parking lot lol. Coming back to work has been refreshing (for now) and the work day does fly by because you know you have something to look foward to:)
