Water break or pee (sorry TMI) lol

Last night DH and I were having sex and all of a sudden I felt wetter than usual. So I stopped and we looked and it was a wet spot on the bed and I wiped my hand across my "va JJ" and I could just see the wetness on my hand. Well my bladder has been weak as all get out. If I cough, I pee, sneeze, I pee...I mean anything can trigger a little tinkle to come out. I smelt it and it didnt smell like anything it was just clear. So now Im wondering if my water broke or if it really was pee. I feel so awkward posting this but hey, that's what we are all here for.

    Have you continued to leak fluid?  If not, then it wasn't your water breaking.  If you can stop the leaking just like you would stop your pee, then it's not your water.  If it was your water breaking, it would be a constant trickle or gush that you can't stop.  

    But if you have any doubt you should go to L&D and get checked out.  If it was your water, then it's time to have a baby!  If not, they will send you home, no big deal.   

    ETA: I just noticed we are due date twins! :)  I was 6 days late with my first, hoping I don't go over this time!

    It was probably extra discharge/fluid (since you probably have a bit extra discharge down there anyways these days), and maybe a little pee, who knows? But if you get worried about it you can always call your doc...

    I know with my first pregnancy water trickled down uncontrollably, but then stopped (I think her head "plugged" it), and i didn't leak for another few hours until my water finished breaking and then gushed out on the hospital floor! So on a bright note it was easy clean-up at the house :) But just to let you know mine leaked, stopped and then gushed out hours later.

    Thanks ladies. DH is a little more concerned than I am so I called my doctor, just waiting for a call back. Melanie, we are due date twins! Congrats. I so hope he does not come late, I dont want him to come to early before we are due but I would go crazy if he comes late which I know is possible.

    Calling your doctor was the right thing to do. With my first, I had a slow leak and never realized it. He was born via emergency c/s with not a drop of fluid left. With my second, there was no mistaking my water had broken. It was like in the movies gushing everywhere.

    I first had this happen with my daughter last pregnancy, about halfway through I noticed that I felt some major wetness between DH and I so I freaked and called my doctor.  We went into hospital to do that strip test for amniotic fluid and it came back negative so sure enough I lost control of my bladder---how embarrassing is that during intercourse?!  Well, now in my fourth pregnancy I experienced it the other evening again and now I unfortunately know that's what it is because with each pregnancy my bladder has just gotten weaker and weaker to the point I have to wear something all of the time now just to keep dry....at 36 weeks I think between my large size, lack of control and aches/pains of nearing the end I think we are going to maybe just throw in the towel till after baby arrives at this point...if you are ever unsure just call your OB and have the test done to find out for sure.  At this point in time, I wouldn't know if my water broke unless it was a huge gush.

    Yes! My doctor had me go to L&D and the test came back negative, I was beyond embarrassed lol but I had high BP and my feet and ankles were swollen so they kept me a while to monitor me. Everything turned out fine but I go see my doctor Wed, thanks for all the comments ladies! ;-)
