Cloth Diapering

Anyone here use Ecos free and clear detergent?

I happened to be in Walmart yesterday and was going to pick up some Tide ultra since we have horrible water.  I stumbled across Ecos Free and Clear and checked the chart from my phone and it received 4 stars.  Just wondering if anyone else uses it and what your thoughts are.  It was pretty inexpensive so I can always use it for LO's clothes if it doesn't work with the diapers.

I am due is 6 weeks so I am going to start prepping diapers today!  Eeek!  So excited!

  • I've been using it for a month with no problems. I use it on all of our clothes also and it does a good job getting things clean.

  • I've been using it for a while now with no problems. I also use it on DS's clothes, it works great! There is a coupon here that you can use: https://www.ecos.com/php/couponlist.php

Thanks for the coupon!  I think I will prep all my diapers with it and wash LO's clothes.  We will see how things go from there!

  • I've read its terrible for hard water.  I have hard water and used it for 2-3 months (with no problems at all) and ended up with a big 'ol disaster.  I had to strip 4 times to get all the build up out.  My diapers went from bright white and fresh to smells... lord.. the smells.. and the rash my LO got.. awful.

Thanks for the heads up. I only have one bottle so I will try it out a few times. I am sure I will use a lot of it washing lo's clothes and bedding and blankets!

This is all we have used and we have really hard water. I do have to use blue dawn once a week to keep from having an ammonia issue. Once I finish the two bottles I bought we will be switching to something else.
