I am thinking about changing my hours.
- Right now I work M-F 7-4 (same as husbands schedule).
- I have the option to change to a rotating shift of two 12 hour shifts and one 24 hour shift.Rotating 7 days a week.
Anyone here work a rotaing shift? How does it work with daycare?
If I change to the rotating shift, I will be paid hourly rather than salary so I have the potential to make more money with over-time.
Re: Work hours. WWYD?
If your husband has a job where his hours are set and he can always be counted on for pickup and drop-off it can work. Otherwise you need to think about backup. My coworker?s wife is a nurse who works 12 hour shifts and does not have a set schedule week to week. She just started working again as she was a SAHM and now their daughter is in school. It has been hectic to say the least because there are days when we have to be to work by 7 and she may still be at work, which means he has to tell my boss he will be late to get his daughter to school. Also, we sometimes get sent on last minute business trips and that has caused issues. Right now they have some family help but this summer they will on their own and he said the other day he has no clue how they are going to handle it.
