This Saturday, we went to The Puppet Co.'s Tiny Tots production at Glen Echo. It's geared towards children ages 0-5 and the tickets are $5 per person (including babies in arms). They have shows on select Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10am. The shows are 30 minutes long.

I wasn't sure if it would capture DD's attention but it totally did. She sat mesmerized watching the entire show. To my surprise, it was the same for the 50+ other toddlers in the room. I didn't hear any kids having a meltdown and all of them really seemed to enjoy it.
Here are a few tips:
1. Make sure to get there with plenty of time to spare. The walk from the parking lot to the playhouse is about a quarter of a mile which can take a while with a pokey toddler. Also, there was a small line for tickets and seating inside is first come, first serve.
2. No strollers are allowed inside. So, if you bring a stroller, you have to leave it outside. Also, no food or drinks are allowed inside.
3. The room is a basically a large room with seating on the carpet in the middle and bench seating around the sides. So, the majority of people have to sit on the floor. If you feel like you'll need to sit on a bench, make sure to get there early.
4. I bought tickets online and they charge a $1 per ticket surcharge. However, you can do a no obligation reservation by calling their number to reserve your ticket and then you can buy the tickets there. If you do that, you don't have to pay the $1 per ticket surcharge. So, next time, I will do the reservation option.
Re: Rave for Tiny Tots Puppet Show at Glen Echo
Well, they run almost every weekend so you should definitely give it a shot. If you DH goes, he definitely won't be the only man there. There were tons of parents there with this look of relief like "I'm so glad to get out of the house and that my kid is going to be entertained for 30 minutes by something other than me."
