3rd Trimester

28 weeks, uncomfortable...vent

So I'm 28wks and so many days. I just need to vent a little about how uncomfortable I am. I'm a small person, 5'1 and am still petite after getting pg. LO is growing normal and has been for all my appointments but I just feel like my insides might explode sometimes. I don't feel like he has room, even though he kicks like he does. On another note I have acid reflux, which sucks normally but it sucks now even more that LO is getting bigger. This morning my breakfast came back up in the form of acid, yuck! Didn't actually vomit but I might as well have. Had to take zantac and my zofran cause I felt nauseous afterwards. I hope this isn't an every day occurrence.

Just curious if anyone else is feeling like me at 28wks??

  • yes! I will be 28 weeks this coming week and even at 5'7 with an sporty build I feel like I'm going to pop. I can't imagine still having another 13 weeks to go..I feel very tired, not myself and like my stomach has taken on a life of it's own. Sorry for my little vent, but I feel your pain!  hang in there!

  • Not to be a downer but it doesn't exactly get any better. You just get used to it. I know how you feel, I am 5'2'' and am pretty petite. Since about 28 weeks I've had cramps on my right side (the kind you get while you run) because LO liked to hunker up in my ribs. My doctor keeps telling me that the baby has plenty of room. In fact, she is still turning completely around even this close to the end. Hope things get better for you. Someone told me today that chewing gum for 30 minutes after meals helps with heartburn, not sure as I have never tried it but just a suggestion.

  • You are not alone!  I'm not necessarily petite, but i'm 5'2 and feel as if this baby has no where to go!  My principal at work asked me if I was having triplets!  And that was when I was 26 weeks!  My husband asked my dr if Keaton is going to be giant and she said no that i'm just small and the baby has on where to go but out.  My belly is very round, but the rib, back, and RL pain is baaaaad!  I haven't had many issues with heartburn, but I have dealt with the nausea and vomiting from weeks 5-16 and then it showed back up around week 27.  :/  My dr said it's only going to get worse before he arrives because he has so much more growing to do.

  • Glad to hear others vent. I know it'll only get worse as I still have weeks and weeks to go. I'm super emotional and thank goodness hubby understands because sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night so uncomfortable, crying and tell him that I can't do this anymore. He just reassures me that I don't have much longer before holding my little guy in my arms. So true!

  • Oh how time have flown...Im 5'2 and was 105 pre pregnancy and now I'm 152...I understand completely....Im almost ready to pop and as pp have said it really don't get much better but I can tell you I don't have the heartburn anymore, that's been traded with contentious (painful) pressure in my lady parts....It sucks but knowing that I don't have much time left helps A LOT!!!! Stay strong everyday that passes is one day closer we can hold our LO's....

  • Weeks 30-33 were the roughest for me...I felt kind of like you do, like the baby was running out of room and fighting for more. I think they go through a growth spurt around that time, so your body kind of feels off until everything adjusts again. I felt nauseated, tired, sweaty, you name it! Almost sick. I asked my mom and MIL and they also remembered feeling that way toward the beginning/at the beginning of their set of 30 weeks. Hang in there! I feel great now and I am effing huge compared to what I was then, so you will adjust and feel normal again soon :)
  • I'm 5'0" and carry all belly, so yes.  My back is killing me and I'm tired very quickly.  It really doesn't get any better, so I try not to let it get to me, considering we have TWELVE weeks left.  All worth it to keep baby inside as long as possible.

  • Ya girl! I just had a massage yesterday. My Chiro has massage therapists that work for him. Every time I get adjusted I get a massage. It's great since it's covered under our insurance. My appts are only once a month. I think I may need to go at least twice as it gets closer to delivery.
