Trying to Get Pregnant

Cramping... And then some spotting for a day...but now nothing. Confused

I O'ed around CD 23 or 24, on CD 29 I started experiencing cramps worse then usual period cramps and then a few hours later I seen just some blood when I went to the bathroom (just when I wiped). The next day there were a few drops in the toilet but nothing on my underwear. This morning I put on a pad because there wasn't enough for a tampon and there is nothing on it. Sorry to get so graphic but I am really confused. I have light periods but this one was only a few drops of red blood.

I heard implantation bleeding the blood is usually brown and I am not sure if there is cramping involved. My usual cycle is between 28-35 days with the average being around 31 days. I took a test this morning and it was negative... And I only started charting when I thought my period started the other day and my basal temp is 97.4 but I am not sure what it was pre-ovu.

Any advice? Or help? Or clue what is going on? lol. Thanks! :)

  • I read your post, and I am a bit confused as well. If it is not your normal heavy flow, I would assume its not AF, but the negative test is throwing me off. I would wait a few days, see if there are any changes with your flow, and test again. I really do hope you get some great advice!

  • I am definitely not an expert but I can tell you about my own personal experience.

When I got pregnant with DS I had some cramping right before I should have started my period and had a very small amount of bleeding (just when wiping and it was pink tinged, not bright red and it never got in my undies or anything). I was pretty sure I would start my period the next day but didn't, and took a HPT a few days later and it was positive.

Again, this is just my experience, it's similar to yours, but everyone is different. My advice would be to wait a few more days and if there's no AF test again.  GL!

  • How do you know you ovulated on CD23 or 24? What cycle day are you on now? Do you have a chart we can see?

I guess you could have experienced implantation bleeding, but I think if that had already occurred then you would have seen a positive pregnancy test. I would keep testing once a week (or more) until you get a positive pregnancy test, your period, or you reach CD60 (then call your doctor).

I don't know that we can guess much more without a chart. I think you're going to have to wait it out.

  • If you weren't charting before a few days ago, then unfortunately, there is no way to know when/if you O'd.

It could be mid-cycle spotting, implantation bleeding, or the beginning of your period.

Only a positive test or full-on AF can answer that question.

    Keep charting and GL!

  • Thanks for the advice girls... I used OPK's for the last 5 months and got my LH surge on CD 21... So following the 12-48 hours for ovulation I was guessing the dates.

I will try to test the weekend again if things dont get moving I guess!

Just remember that you can get positive OPKs without actually ovulating. The only way to confirm that you ovulated is by temping throughout your cycle.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

  • That is why I started charting this month... I just finished reading "taking charge of your fertility" and it mentioned the OPK having a positive but then your body fails to release the egg... And plus the charts will come in handy if I have to see a fertility specialist if I don't have any luck over the next few months.

Hopefully it is just implantation bleeding but I don't want to get my hopes up too much! And if it isn't hopefully my charting will make TTC a little easier. :)

I think you're in for a long weekend of PIAC!  I'd keep up the OPKs to see if you're just waiting for a second LH surge to actually ovulate, but I'd probably end up using an HPT by the end of this weekend, too.  Then again, I'm POAS-obsessed.  My fingers are crossed for you--either way, I think you're still in the game!
