When doing kick counts, what qualifies as "movement" (enough to be counted)?
My OB said that for me, right now, monitoring for decreased fetal movement is very important (I'm high risk w/ BP issues), and that I should feel 10 "good" movements in a 2 hour period. If not, I should concentrate on movement for another 2 hours to see how long it takes to get to 10. If not, call.
But, I'm not sure what I am counting now. She used to give me little kicks/punches, and now the movements are more subtle wiggles and swishes. (I guess due to size/space limitations). I don't know if those light movements count towards the 10 or not. She has been really active for a few days, and was this morning, but this afternoon not so much. So I stopped working, drank something cold, and laid down, and felt several movements (3-4 hard thuds, and many more gentle lighter stuff), but I am not "happy" (or relieved or not obsessed) and am worrying about movement. I've felt some other random stuff since I got up as well - but nothing consistent. Normally, I am in the car commuting during this time - and can't feel her even if she is wiggly, and I don't think this is one of her more active times.
I would note that it is my 4th wedding anniversary and DH & I are about to walk out the door to go to dinner, and I am preoccupied with baby movement. I just feel crazy.
Re: Question about Movement?
I have been told it's any movement.
PS Happy anniversary!
This is what my doc told me too. Whether it's a little nudge or a full roll - if you feel something, than that counts!
I was told anything that wasnt hiccups.
If I press on my belly in a certain spot, I'm pretty sure I can feel an arm nudge back and forth pretty much constantly. I don't feel many kicks or rolls anymore, but I figure if that arm is waving back and forth, things should be fine!
Also, I don't know if this is normal, but I'm starting to have movement where I don't feel it but I can see my belly bounce and move, so I know she's moving around. I figure those must count too!
