I have strep - still BF?

Well I think I do - have to go to the dr today.  Do I still BF?  I know the antibodies are good for him but I don't want him to get it.

Re: I have strep - still BF?

  • Wow....I understand the worry since he's so little still. But I'd still BF, he should get antibodies that will protect him. Especially since you aren't sure it's strep. Do your older kids have it??

  • No they've had a low grade fever for the last few days but nothing else.  I got strep after I had the twins and I just wonder if it's part of my immune system not being 100% yet.

  • The best thing is always to breastfeed. I've been sick several times and LO hasn't got anything yet.

Breastmilk is key in getting his immune system going.
