Our Elfster gift came!! PIP
It was from CaniacMom and everything is perfect! E got an adorable shirt with a bumble bee on it, a snack container, her favorite lil' crunchies, bubbles, and more board books. I can't wait to try out the snack container and E still loves the board books we got from the first gift exchange so some new ones are a great idea! I got a little note pad and pen (perfect timing since my note pad is almost gone), some delicious candy, and a candle from Wilmington, NC (which is ironic because that's where I'm going on vacation in May) and it smells so good. I lit it not 5 minuets after opening it. E also got a cute card with a monkey on it that I have a feeling she is going to love when she wakes up!

The candle is still burning and the apartment smells soooo good! Anything we should make sure to see or do while we're there? It's me, my mom, E, and my MIL.
There is so much to do here. Are you staying in the downtown area or the beach area.
Beach Area - well there is the beach - May is kind of iffy on the water temp - I used to work at Airlie Gardens - it is a historic garden and very pretty; also the NH County Arboretum which has a children's garden among other themed gardens & is free admission - it is smaller but it is free. There is a lot of higher-end shopping on that end of town. Mayfaire is a huge multi-use shopping/eating/entertainiment area - I like to put Joshua in the stroller & walk around there on a nice day.
Downtown - The river area is nice - there are tons of great places to eat. The candle came from a little shop down in the downtown area. There are a lot of unique shops downtown both in the Cotton Exchange & Chandlers Wharf. Also, lots of antique stores. There are several historic homes that you can tour downtown (for a fee). There is a river taxi that you can either just go for a ride on or take over to the Battleship NC (another place I worked one summer while in college). The Battleship may difficult with E because there is a lot of climbing up and down ladders, etc. We also have a great Children's Museum downtown as well. There is also quite a night-life downtown if you were going out.
If there is something particular you are looking for I will be glad to try and answer any questions. I've lived here all of my life so I know the area quite well.
