This is my second pregnancy, so i learned a lot with what i actually used and what was a waste. I started my registry a few weeks ago, but have it set to private until we find out the sex on Wednesday. I don't want to miss anything so does anyone want to share some stuff that was either a waste, or a must have?
For myself, i was torn between the fisher-price rock and play sleeper, and a play yard. We ended up choosing the play yard because you can use it or a while, and not just up to 20 lbs.
Re: what not to/to register for; what your list?
my friend told me i had to register for a snap and go and a dishwasher basket to put the bottle nipples in.
random.
i listened to her though and added it.
I guess I should register to get the discount later...hadn't even thought of it. I guess I'll put diapers and wipes on the list!
You know, I didn't have a wipe warmer last time and even though so many people say they wouldn't get it again I think I'll try it this time. Our house is always cold - those chilly wipes can't feel very good.
Our DD wouldn't sleep anywhere but the RnP for the first few weeks and wouldn't nap anywhere but the RnP and the car seat for a good 6 months. It was an essential.
We use the Snap n' Go several times a week and I couldn't imagine pulling out a big heavy carriage if I didn't have to. It's so convenient.
The Boppy is essential for us, too. I had a c-section and it helped a ton with comfort while feeding and we still use it every night as part of our night time bottle routine.
We recently got TWO dishwasher baskets for nipples and the like because out bottles have lots of parts and I wish we'd gotten it sooner because we used to hand wash all the bottles every night. Now it gives me an excuse to cook so I can use up dishes to run the dishwasher every day and wash the bottles.
Bottle warmer was useless. Never used it once.
Regular monitor was useless. Never used anything but the video monitor.
The infant tub was an essential. DD is 8 months old and we still use it for her tubbies.

Last time I registered for both the RnP and play yard. Never really used the play yard for naps, but did use it to put LO in to play. I highly recommend the RnP. DS slept awesome in it, but we only used it for naps, not for the night.
The Boppy was a must for me. I used all the time nursing.
I ended up EPing so my bottle warmer was used all the time. The wipe warmer on the other hand never got used.
LOVE my video monitor.
I used my infant tub for a while, but this time I will prob. get more of a seat to put in the tub to bathe DS & LO #2 together.
Thanks for the feedback on that! Perhaps it won't be a waste for our particular situation after all.
because i don't want things i'm not going to use in the long run. I'm trying to keep it minimal with baby items this time.
