How long were you in labor? I was induced, a total of 7 hours from start to finish!
How long did you push for? 45 minutes, DS decided he was going to try and come out through my hip instead of straight down and I was way too numb to push properly
Any pain meds? epi, they ended up turning it off because I could not feel if I were pushing hard enough or not
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? I had an episiotomy and its a good thing they did it, because one push after the dr did it he came right on out
How big was baby? 7lbs 4oz
Any issues that came up during delivery? None really, I had to wear O2 while I was pushing becuase every push it got black, again that was because I was so numb and was not pushing the right way.
Good Luck with your vaginal delievery!
I had my first contraction on a Thurs. night. (I hadn't had any until that point...no BH, nothing.) Every time I got up to pee that night I had another. When I woke on Friday morning, I lost my MP and had bloody show. I was also continuing to to have contractions so I knew I was heading into active labor.
I ran errands that morning. I then had a light lunch and labored all afternoon. At about 5 pm I threw up and told DH to call the midwife to tell her to come over (we'd been in contact all day). Looking back, I am sure the throwing up was the beginning of transition.
At around 7:30 I declared I wanted to go to the hospital because I couldn't do it anymore. My midwife gave me my first and only internal and I was 10 cm.
I didn't really start pushing for another hour (it took that long for me to have the urge). J. was born just after 10:30 pm, which means I pushed about 2 hours.
Long story short: He was born about 24 hours after my first contraction. But really, I was only working hard for about 6 hours.
I did tear (no idea what degree, never asked). My midwife allowed me to decline stitches as long I agreed to not climbing any stairs for 2 weeks. I agreed.
J. was just over 7 lbs. The only issue (which probably was part of the reason I pushed so long) was that he had a hand up by his head.
How long were you in labor? Technically 17 hrs
How long did you push for? 2.5 hrs
Any pain meds? epi
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? I chose not to have an episiotomy. I tore very badly. Lots of stitches inside and out.
How big was baby? 7lb7oz
Any issues that came up during delivery? Only thing that came up was DD didn't tolerate the pitocin. After less than an hour her HR dropped like a rock and we had an emergency situation for a few minutes while the nurse frantically cut off the pitocin, and reached inside to massage DD to get her HR back up I kept dilating on my own after that, and had forgotten all about it until recently. By the time she was born, she was all that mattered
How long were you in labor? Active labor for 9 hours.
How long did you push for? About an hour and 45 minutes.
Any pain meds? I had an epidural, but it didn't work. I found out I could go med-free so that's what I'm doing this go round!
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? My doctor doesn't really do many episiotomies unless there's an emergency. I had a 2nd degree tear, but it really wasn't that bad at all.
How big was baby? 8lbs 3oz, 21 1/4 inches long
Any issues that came up during delivery? There was meconium in the fluid so the NICU nurses had to be present and they had to suction her before she took her first big breath.
How long did you push for? 3.5 hrs
Any pain meds? ?epi, that failed
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? ? I had a third degree tear.
How big was baby? 8 lbs even
Any issues that came up during delivery? DD was sunny side up and oblique hence the long pushing. She had a huge hematoma from coming out weird.
Wow, my delivery looks pretty intense written out but so worth it!
How long were you in labor? I'd say about 12 hours, counting active labor only.
How long did you push for? 20 minutes.
Any pain meds? Epidural, baby!
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? Yes, I tore. 2nd degree. I took no pain relievers once I left the hospital and used the Dermoplast only for a week afterward. It did royally suck when I wiped instead of using the peri bottle, though... :x
How big was baby? 8lbs 1.1 oz
Any issues that came up during delivery? Nope. The epidural was a dream, pushing wasn't terrible, and couldn't feel the stitching afterward. The worst part for me was the IV in the back of my wrist. And if I happen to have the same nurse who tells me "You're doing so well; I think you could go without the eipdural," I may or may not issue a cvntpunch.
How long were you in labor? From the time my water broke to the time I had DS it was a total of 13 hrs.
How long did you push for? 3.5 hrs
Any pain meds? Epi, but I think it wore off or didn't work right.
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? I had an episiotomy. It wasn't that bad. The Dr asked before doing it and held off until that was the last thing stopping DS from coming out.
How big was baby? 7 lbs 9 oz.
Any issues that came up during delivery? DS was sunny side up so he kept getting stuck on my pelvic bone. They had to use the vacuum and maneuver him through that area. They held off on doing it but after 3 hrs of pushing the Dr decided to help out a little.
How long were you in labor? About 4 hours- induction at 42 weeks
How long did you push for? 30 minutes

Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? Had an episiotom which became a 3rd degree tear. I consented because his heartrate dropped and didnt rebound. He was born the next push.
How big was baby? 9 pounds 7 ounces
Any issues that came up during delivery? Weird reaction to the epidural. It made me loopy like iv drugs would. I really don't remember much and it probably contributed to why I needed the episiotomy since I couldn't push effectively enough. Took about 2 hours to feel normal again once DS was born. I'm trying to go med free to avoid a repeat this time.

How big was baby? 7 lbs 1 oz
Any issues that came up during delivery? none...I just started pushing when they told me I still had a 'lip' left on my cervix...I didnt have the urge to push right away, I just wanted him out. If they tell you there is a teeny bit left, save yourself and dont push until you REALLY feel the urge!
Non-stop, intense contractions every 5-10 mins ~ 4 days (I was in intense prodromal labor during this time. I declined any induction methods.)
Active labor in the hospital ~ 28+ hours
How long did you push for?

Enh. A non-working epidural after 24 hours at the hospital.
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad?
No tear.
How big was baby?

Any issues that came up during delivery?
Anesthesiologist was in surgery after my epidural was put in place. Thus, I was stuck in bed for 4 hours with no physical way to get through transition. Fun times.
Minor issue in the grand scheme of things. However, I am even more staunch in not getting one this time around. I figure I made it through last time.

labor - 15 hours
pushed for 2 hours. DS was turned so I think that is why it took longer.
pain meds - yes!
episiotomy
DS was 8lbs. 4 oz
the only issue was that DS was turned to the side instead of looking down like they want.
How long were you in labor? From first contraction until delivery it was 29 hours. The doc at the hospital lacked bedside manners and when I first went in (a week overdue) he told me I 'was not in labor' so I went home, and was throwing up in the shower, freaking out that if I was not in labor what was happening, and what would labor be like... for a FTM that sucked. If he had just said you're in early labor, go home to be comfortable, it would've been a whole other feeling! I'm still bitter
How long did you push for? I don't remember! But I don't think it was very long.
Any pain meds? epi
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad? I had a 3rd degree tear, stitched inside and out. The tear didn't hurt, but by the time they got to the stitches it did.
How big was baby? 8 lbs, 20 inches
Any issues that came up during delivery? DD swallowed meconium so she was taken to the NICU right away, and I guess during the commotion they lost the umbilical cord back inside me and had to get it. I wouldn't have even known what they were doing, but I think thats why meds wore off before the stitched me.
How long were you in labor?
I started feeling contractions about 10pm. I decided we should head to the hospital about 1am since they were consistent and I tested positive for GBS.
DD was born the next day at 1:04pm.
How long did you push for?
1 hr 45 minutes
Any pain meds?
Epidural although it wore off towards the end
Did you tear or have an episiotomy? If you tore, how bad?
Tore internally and had a few stitches
How big was baby?
8lbs 1oz - born at 40 weeks + 2 days
Any issues that came up during delivery?
I spiked a fever while pushing but was close to delivering otherwise I think I may have ended up with a c-section. DD's head was turn sideways so that is why I pushed for a while.
