insurance WILL pay for the IVFs!!!

thanks so much to everyone who offered suggestions and support last week. i shared the info and just learned that her clinic recoded the claims and they were approved by her insurance provider!

there is still no baby in her foreseeable future, but at least they aren't saddled with $50k in bills.

  • that's great news!

will they keep trying and doing more IVFs?

  • That is wonderful news.  And hopefully now they will have the opportunity to try again.

  • Will they be able to get insurance for him?  Can he get on her plan?  That would be one thing I would take away from this if it's at all possible.  And, I'm very sorry that it didn't work and that she is/they are going through such a rough time.  I hope there's new hope and a positive outcome at the eventual end of this road for them.
  • Such great news!  Sorry she's having trouble getting pg, but not being out $50k is good good news.

  • That's great, great news - I think taking some time to think about what the next steps are is a good idea. After all this and two BFN, she must be emotionally exhausted. Wishing her the very best!

i'm not sure what's presently going on with his insurance situation. he was between jobs when that horrific car accident happened last year (not sure who remembers that, but he was hit and almost killed by a drunk driver with no insurance and no assets, so they are already saddled with medical bills) and he had no health insurance at the time. his current job doesn't offer insurance, hers won't cover him, they can't afford the monthly OOP for private insurance (since he has so many issues now) and make way too much for medicaid. pickle.

Crap.  That really sucks.  I hope that situations like this will be remedied when Obamacare takes effect - if it ever happens.  For some reason the way I read your earlier post I thought they had just opted out of care on her plan - which I can understand if it's super expensive and he's been healthy.
