Anyone's ob going on vacation around your due date?

I just found out my ob is going on vacation when I'm 39 weeks.  She works for a pretty big practice, but I've never met any other doctors.  What happens if I go into labor then?  My baby is breech, so it'll be a c-section at this point.  I'm not very particular about who is going to deliver my baby (as long as my baby comes out healthy, and they saw me back up well so that I can have another baby), but I'm just curious who will be operating.

I went into labor 3 days before the scheduled date last time, but my ob then was available, so she and the other doctor from her office operated on me.

    I'm due April 14th, and 'spring break' is the week before. I'm pretty sure my OB is off that week. Everyone's sure I'll be earlier than that even, but if I'm not then someone else may be delivering my baby. As far as c-sections, I'm not sure who would do that, but I'd assume just another OB in your office? Maybe you could talk to them at your next appt or call and ask what happens in that situation.

    My OB is going on vacation the weekend before my due date. I'm due March 2nd and she is going to be gone from February 24th (DH's birthday!) through February 27th. She already told me the doctor that would be taking her place if I do go into labor during that time, so we have things worked out already haha.

    Im due in 2 days and my doctor is gone until Thursday. She has been gone since last Tuesday. I have been on pins and needles but don't worry they always have an on call doctor that will take care of you and deliver your baby if needed. No worries. :-) Good Luck!

    My OB is gone the week that I'm 38 weeks.  There are 6 doctors in the practice and between this pregnancy and last I've seen 5 of them. 

    Last time, I had also seen all of them except one and when it came time to deliver, of course the OB on call was the one I hadn't seen.  It really was not a big deal since she just got there to "catch" so I'm not worried this time either.  Not sure if I would feel differently if I was having a c-section.

    Especially if you have a to have a c/s, it's not a big deal.  You just lay there and "lean" on your DH or partner for the emotional support you need - the doctors do their thing on the other side of the surgical curtain.

    My daughter was due November 20 and was born the week of Thanksgiving. My doctor was on vacation that week and some I saw someone else in her practice for my last prenatal appointment. That happened to be the on call doctor for the weekend and that is who delivered my baby.
    i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

    Mine is not on vacation, but she is also pregnant and due almost exactly the same time I am, so we are just waiting to see if she goes early or if I do to see what the plan will be... The uncertainty does suck.

    Yes, I just want someone good to work on me.  After all, I don't know if my ob is good at c-section...  My hospital is supposedly the best in the area, so keeping my fingers crossed!

    We are going to induce due to BP issues, and on the original date she set, she'll be out of town.  So we just pushed it back a few days.  Not quite the same situation, though.
