In an effort to get some non-BD Drama posts going... How was your weekend?
Did you get anything accomplished, do anything fun, watch the supper bowl, etc???
My mom took DS and I out for burgers and fro-yo yesterday. It was a nice way to end the weekend. Other than that DS and I have been sick as dogs...
Speaking of dogs, did any one else see that cute VW dog commercial? It made me laugh so hard. I feel like that's been me lately.
:]
Re: Weekend Catch Up: How was your weekend?
I had a quiet weekend alone in my new place for the most part. Got a new kitchen table.
Last night I went out on my balcony and the door somehow locked, locking me out and my baby inside. I had to literally jump off my 10 foot balcony, have some random neighbor buzz me in and use my neighbors phone to call 911 since I had no phone and no keys with my child screaming inside.
Took about an hour for maintenance to even show up after the police lady got ahold of them and by then my neighbor had shimmied her way up my balcony and shook my door until it finally gave way. It was a fabulous way for me to meet my new neighbors. Not to mention during this Rome was having his "nakey" time so he met everyone tear-streaked and bare assed. It was really something else. I felt awful. The whole scenario lasted about 30 minutes but it felt like forever.
I was busy!
Friday after work, I was hanging out 1 friend, then we met up with several more friends for dinner. After dinner, Friends 2 and 3 and myself all came back to my place for some drinks and hanging out.
Saturday was spent hanging out with more friends.
Sunday was spent with DS and friends.
OMG! I'm so glad things worked out, I would have been having a nervous breakdown!
Sounds like you have some really nice neighbors. At my old complex I'm sure they would have just sat around smoking and laughing instead of helping.
Oh they definitely laughed but in a nice way. They were families with children and most said it has happened to them before and not to feel bad. They were all very friendly. So despite the scary situation at least we have something to laugh over in the future.
I was slightly embarassed to have to explain to them that I'm a single mother when numerous people asked me where my husband or boyfriend was. Comes with the territory though! Needless to say I will never be exiting my home without keys to get back in!
Very smart choice :]
