yes, I am weary of all these things too, but I came across that program specifically in Educator weekly, so thought it might have some substance.
And that said, if doing cross word puzzles and sudoku is supposed to strengthen the brain (of a NT person), then why wouldn't it suffice to say that those BrainWare exercises would help someone strengthen his attention abilities?
I hope you can understand why though, it's easy for people to "drink the Kool-aid"- it's almost like a natural response to the information that seems legit- or maybe, a lazy one.
