BF mamas and Mini Pill ?

My OB prescribed the MP at my appointment but I cannot bring myself to take it because I am so afraid it will hurt my supply. We aren't having sex right now (DH not really interested and we are busy with baby) but I'm sure we eventually will. Did you notice a change in your supply? I EBF and will pump at work once I return. TIA!

I did not notice a change in my supply, but after 3 weeks of taking it I started getting horrible headaches so I stopped it....

I thought the whole point of the mini pill is that since there's no estrogen in it that it doesn't hurt your supply....

Also, I would start taking it now because it takes about a month before it is really effective so if you have sex before a month it is recommended to use a second form of protection.

No changes with supply and I've been using it for over a month now.

BUT, like its been mentioned, use a second form of birth control during the first month. And since it doesn't have estrogen, if you miss a pill or you don't take it within the same 3 hour window each day, it can be ineffective for the rest of that cycle. So use a second form of birth control until you start your next pack.

Thank you everyone! I thought it did not affect supply either but have heard a lot of stories in which it did so I was hesitant to take it. We will definitely use a back up method as well. Don't want to get pregnant before he deploys this summer! Thanks again!
