NBR: ? about Bass Concert Hall / Restaurant recs

We're going to see Wicked next week (eeek!) and would like to grab a bite to eat beforehand. Are there any good restaurants within walking distance to Bass Concert hall? Also, will parking be an issue since it will be on a week day?

  • As far as I know, there is nothing within walking distance.  When we go to Wicked on Sunday, I think we're going to eat at Clay Pit which isn't that far away.  I don't think parking should be that bad at that time, but I'm not really sure.  I can let you know how our experience is after Sunday.

  • nope, nothing in walking distance really.

if it's a week night, parking should be fine.  we usually park on the north side of dean keaton for free parking (we're cheap and don't mind walking).   you might even luck out and get parking along dean keaton if you get there early enough.

  • Parking is fine, just have cash. And we love castle hill and vivo!

  • We are going next week too. Smile We made reservations at Carillion.  It's less than a mile and we are used to walking.
  • We just saw it last Sunday.  Really fun.  Nothing is within walking distance, food-wise.  We had tapas at Malaga down on Second and it was about a 10 minute drive.  Plenty of parking in the lot right across from the stadium (so less than a 5 minute walk to Bass).  We parked there and I think it was $8, cash only.  There was also valet parking right in front for $16, but there was a looooong wait after the show, which would have sucked.

  • We ate at the UT Club (mom works for UT). I don't know if you have to be a member or not. It's in the stadium. For parking it's $8 and there was a big line if you didn't get there somewhat early.

  • I forgot to add that I think there's a causual sushi place near there too.
  • I really like Sao Paulo.  It's a little quirky (and the bathroom scares me), but the food is quite tasty.
