Because he works on commission only and has no vacation pay he is only taking off the days I am in the hospital
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
If he has a job, none after we get home from the hospital. Unless they are the best company ever. But it's not worth risking his position at a new place, honestly.
If not, he'll be home 24/7 with us and job hunting until he has one! If he doesn't have a job by 8wks post-partum, he's staying home w the boys and I go back to work.
If I have a c-section, I want him to take about 2 weeks or so (all of our family will be working, and I don't want to be home alone recovering from surgery!). If we are able to do a vaginal birth, I will ask that he take at least a few days at home. It really depends on what day of the week baby decides to come! At most, he will take 5 days if its a vaginal delivery.

We are really lucky and my hubby gets 5 weeks off when the baby gets here at 93% of his salary (75% from Quebec government and top up from his work). He's planning on taking the whole 5 weeks. We get 1 year of maternity/parental leave here, i'm going to take 27 weeks (first half) and DH will take the second half. He'll end up with more time off with baby than me! lol
Originally he was going to take off four weeks at once (he has a ridiculous amount of time to use). But now we are thinking 2 weeks and then another 2 weeks when I return to work to keep her out of daycare a little longer.
My hubby is taking a week off and then will probably stay at home with me during the day and then go up to work any practices or games that are after school. He's an athletic trainer at a high school so he doesn't actually teach any classes during the day. Then we'll both be off all summer!
DH is planning on taking between 5-7 vacation days. He gets no leave of any kind, but neither do I. We are both teachers, so at least it will only be about 6 weeks back for him, and then he'll have about 3 months off with us before he and I both start back.
He's not really taking any officially but will work slow instead. He has a lot of flexibility with his job which means he can work from home, go in late, leave early etc and as he doesn't have any major deadlines planned for when LO is due, he'll be able to do that.
We are fortunate - my dad is retired and lives nearby and is a helpful person, my mum still works but will also be great and we have help 3 days a week at home which means I won't have to worry about cleaning/washing/etc. And my best friend is one of those great people who is useful - yes, she'll want to hold baby but she will bring food/ wash dishes etc first!

DH has 3 weeks vacation, so he'll probably use one week. I wish it could be two, but such is corporate life. His mom is retired though and she'll be with us for two to 3 weeks which will be a big help.
My DH doesn't have paid paternity leave, just his vacation days which don't roll over so he doesnt have too many.
My mom is coming for a month so she'll take care of me. He will take 2-3 days when the baby is born and 2-3 more once his parents get into town (about a week later I think). He works Wed-Sat though so depending on what day the baby's born, he could be off for over a week
None, besides of course being at the hospital with me. But honestly he might even have to work a few hours while I'm in the hospital. We are hoping he has a new job by then and honestly any time he can work we could use as I will be off for a little bit.
He'll be taking two weeks of paternity leave, then 2 weeks vacation that if needed he'll stretch into four with work at home days if needed. We figure he'll decide during the two weeks of paternity leave!
He's taking off 2 weeks after the baby is born. Not sure if this is including the hospital stay or not. He bought an extra week of PTO just for this purpose this year.
My DH started a new job in September and only gets 2 weeks of vacation for now, so he'll probably just take a few days. It depends on whether the baby comes on the weekend or during the week, but he'll probably go back the day after I come home from the hospital. He'll also take off the day of the bris if that falls during the week.
But, DH works from home and has a pretty flexible schedule. So, it's not like he'll be missing the baby during the day - I'll be in the next room with him! So, DH will be able to help me out with things if I need him, come with me to the first pediatrician appt., etc. without having to take the vacation days.

He gets 2 weeks paternity leave, which he will take. He also has around 2 weeks of vacation he can use, but we are going to see about that. My in-laws are coming in May, so maybe he'll take some time while they are here, or not. We're going to play it by ear after the first 2 weeks. His work also allows him to work from home some days, so that should be a major help.
He gets one week paterniy leave so will take that. He also gets 5-6 weeks of vacation a year, but we won't use any of that unless necessary. We would rather save it for actual vacations, plus DH has a very demanding job and it just isn't feasible for him to take off more time.

I get a year of Mat Leave - DH could take part of it if he wanted to, but I don't think we're allowed to take it at the same time. He only has two weeks vacation so he's taking a week after the baby is born and then my mom is coming to stay with us for a week (longer if I need her / have a c-section)
MH is planning on taking off about 4 weeks once baby is born. He has plenty of leave (and will still have plenty left over after taking the 4 off). We've been storing leave to prepare for baby for a while now.

Depending on what day baby is born but a week or so.
If baby is born on a Thursday he'll obviously take more than a week, but if baby is born on a Tuesday he'll probably go back to work the following Monday.

My DH works in the trades and gets percentage vacation pay- so when he takes time off he doesn't get paid as if he was working, with that said he's going to school for 8 weeks for his 3rd block for his pipefitting ticket (he's already a licensed plumber) so he will only be taking the days I'm in the hospital off, not exceeding two days (if during the week).
I'm hoping it's towards the weekend, but who knows, she'll come when she is ready!

1 week, maaaaybe 2 if i end up with a repeat C. I had a lot of trouble with pain and my blood pressure after DD was born and I really needed help for more than a week. We're hoping I'll get to VBAC and he can go back to work sooner.
Probably not long since he is self-employed. So no work = no money. But it is my 3rd and I will have help from my mom and MIL and he can be around if really needed.
8 days vacation as long as she stays put until my scheduled c/s. I scheduled it for a wednesday so he'll take the rest of that week and the following off. if she comes early I guess we'll play it by ear.
I'm having a c-section. He's taking off for the days I'm in the hospital and then 3 days once we're home. My mom will come and stay for 3 more days after that, so I'm looking at about a week of help post hospital.
He has a week of paid paternity leave (which is funny to me b/c I have no paid maternity leave at my job), and then he also has a few vacation days left. He gets more vacation time at the beginning of July, so he'll probably take everything he has left in April.
DH lost his job 3 years ago, this month. We have completely given up on him finding a job, so he will be a stay at home dad. I am hoping to stay home 10 weeks after giving birth (and planning on a c-section).

He can use 2 weeks of sick time, and will be using the whole 2 weeks. MIL will probably stay for 3 weeks after she is here as well. I plan on just feeding baby and watching them do everything else.

Gotta love QPIP and $7/day daycare! (Former Montrealer here:)
DH will take 2 weeks (I'm having a c-section). My mum will be here for a while after DH goes back to work.
mmc @ 14 weeks - November 2009. Missed every day.

DH will take a month off as he did last time with DD. He's a firefighter so can trade days with others to work for him and has built up a lot of time off.

none! He doesn't get paid leave so its what ever sick and vaca time he has. He will obviously be there the day of the RCS but since he works 3rd shift its really not a big deal....he will be working while I sleep then take the boys to daycare, come visit me and the baby and then go home and sleep until the boys need to be picked up then they will all come visit us. My mom or my sister will watch the boys while DH is at work.

He's a doctor in a fellowship, so his schedule varies by month, and he put two very easy months back to back around the time the babies come, so it will be sort of like he has 8 weeks, but he'll have to go in once or twice a week. If Claire's complications are worse than expected and I need him to take more time, he can ask the program director for 4 more light weeks by doing a "research month" that basically means he would write a paper about the babies.

Maybe a week total including our hospital stay.
Luckily, MIL will continue to have DD during the day.
