Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Fussy baby after learning to roll over...

My LO started to roll over a few weeks ago.  She can roll over from her back to stomach and from stomach to back but she gets SO MAD!  She is not happy on her floor mat anymore because she rolls over on her stomach and then just gets mad.  She wont play on her floor mat with her toys like she used to.  Has anyone else experieced this?

  • Yes, sort of. DD would roll to her stomach and then whine because she didn't want to be there, only thing was she couldn't roll back! Smile She did get better about playing on her tummy within a couple weeks. Maybe try getting your LO some new toys to play with on her tummy?

  • DD recently went through this.  She would roll to her stomach and then get annoyed since she couldn't roll back.  She recently learned how to roll back and now her play mat is b.o.r.i.n.g.!   She has moved on to her bouncy chair (hangs from a door frame) and exersaucer...Now and then she still enjoys her mat, but I think it is old news!  It might just be developmental, they want something new.  Take it away for a little while and then reintroduce it...

  • Yep, that happened when DS rolled over.  Now, at a week away from 6 months he won't stay on his back and LOVES his belly.  Pretty soon she'll start doing mini pushups and be able to play on her belly with toys.  I happened all of a sudden one day for DS.
