We had DD's 3 yo physical/check up yesterday. Except for one trip to urgent care in November, we haven't been to the doctor since September - go us - unlike previous winters where we were basically there every 2-3 weeks.
Anyway. .. normally the doctor asks me questions about DD's overall health and development, etc. but yesterday for the first time, she talked directly to DD! She did some very baseline questions about colors, her body, quizzed her about shapes, asked her about her friends, foods, what she liked at school, etc. An, amazingly, DD answered correctly most of time (bad example - Q - can you tell me a green food? A - PIZZA!)
I know its good and progress and all that, but OMG, it was kinda shocking! She's such a big girl, confidently talking to strangers and she knows so much! Man - they are not kidding when they tell you your kids grow up in the blink of an eye!
She's also still a midget - 3 feet tall exactly!
Re: well that was interesting - DD's 3 yo check up
Is it bad that I have no recollection of how it worked at DDs 3 y/o check-up at all?
It was also DSs 1 year old check-up or 18 month as we were likely tardy.
I need to schedule DDs 4 year and DSs 2 year. OMG.
As a speech language pathologist, I'm glad the pediatrician checked her language skills
