and you've been trying a while, maybe suggest that he stop. DH isn't a heavy drinker, but did have a drink or two pretty much every night. It never bothered me as he has an awful and incredibly stressful job.
He had an S/A in October, but we were told at the end of November (OB looked at the wrong #...RE told us) that his count was low (10 mill). He stopped drinking in early December, except a few glasses of wine on the weekend and had a repeat S/A on the 20th. His number have tripled (32 mill, 56% motility) and that is the only thing he changed. So, not saying it will work for everyone, but it certainly did for us:)
The RE had originally told us that since he had a low count and borderline motility and my AMH is low, that we should be aggressive and consider IVF after I have surgery to remove a big fibroid and suspected endo (I would have gotten a 2nd opinion if it came to that). Now my surgery is in a few weeks and we have to wait for a few cycles to recover, but she said after that, there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to get pregnant on our own! And if that doesn't work, we can try IUI this fall.
Just thought I would do a PSA, as I had NO idea that a drink or two could really hurt that much. Have a great day, ladies!
