Re: honestly forget if i asked this already: how long was your LP on injectibles?

  • I used progesterone on all of my injectible cycles and they lengthened my LP to 14 days. I'm pretty sure my period would've shown up earlier had I not been on progesterone.

  • You did just injects, right?  I had a 12 day LP when on injects only - but I was not on any progesterone support.  You should get your period sooner when you are on injects - except since you are on progesterone it may extend it.    I would test at 14 dpIUI (if you make it that long) - and if its negative then call your RE and see if you can stop the progesterone.

It means short Luteal Phase (the time between ovulation and your period showing up).

There are varying opinions on what constitutes a short Luteal Phase; my RE isn't concerned unless it's shorter than 10 days. They can check for low progesterone by doing a check of your progesterone at around 7 dpo.

If you do have a short LP, it's usually easily corrected by progesterone supplementation (gel inserted vaginally or progesterone in oil (PIO) that's injected intramuscularly).

  • Injects shortened mine.  8-10 days, maybe 11 on one cycle, but I don't think so.  No progesterone.  Clearly, this was a problem.
