Colin vs Calvin

We (I think) have narrowed our boy names down to either Colin or Calvin. Calvin is less common, which I like, but sometimes I think it sounds kind of dorky. DH likes Calvin better.

Our third choice is Soren. I also like Owen and Logan (apparently I really like names that end with "n"), but they are too popular. Thoughts on all of this???

I really like both Calvin and Colin. I don't consider Calvin dorky at all, but I do like Colin just a bit better.

I really like the name Colin. I also like Owen and Logan more than Calvin... I guess it just reminds me too much of Calvin & Hobbes- I can't picture an adult with that name.

I love Colin. I would avoid Soren unless you live in Scandinavia or have extremely strong Scandinavian heritage- I would totally side-eye the parents of a little Soren who was of, say, Italian heritage.

I love Calvin. It was on our short list for boy names before we found out we were having a girl. And yes, we definitely would have made sure he had a stuffed tiger.

Calvin makes me think of Calvin & Hobbes - which I dearly love, but don't think I could name my kid that : ) I'd go with Colin, although I also love Logan and Owen is growing on me. Good luck deciding!

I like Calvin. I'm a teacher, and have taught many Logans and Colins. Haven't had an Owen yet, but I have a couple of friends naming their son that.

I really like Colin.  When I think of Calvin, I think of Calvin Coolidge or Cavlin and Hobbs.  My second choice would be Logan.

I wouldn't be concerned about these associations - they are really minor and kind of silly. Once the name is attached to your baby, he'll own it. I like Calvin. Go for it!

All I can think of is Calvin and Hobbs cartoons.  I prefer Collin, with 2 L's pronounced Col-lin not Co-lon....

I love Calvin! Super cute and refreshing, grows up well and has a great nickname. A definite winner.

Colin and Owen are nice, but kinda boring since I hear them a lot. Soren is cool, but seems super Scandinavian (which is great if this is your background). I hate Logan.

I really like Colin but would choose Calvin because it is less popular. I'm tired of Owen and Logan. Soren is not my style.

LOVE Calvin!  It's my number 1 choice for a boy.  Sadly DH isn't a fan.

Colin makes me think colon, I'm not really a fan.
