Grammy is going to be watching DS one day a week starting in mid-March. DH and I would like to get her a stroller so she can go for walks with him. She lives on a quiet block right near a park. We obviously don't want to spend too much as she only has him one day a week.
What recommendations do you have for a lightweight, low-ish cost stroller that could be used starting around the 5/6month mark?
TIA!
Re: Stroller for Grammy - recommendations?
We have one of those basic umbrella strollers from BRU that was free with some other purchase. I wasn't sure if it would be OK or not since it doesn't recline at all. Good to know it should be OK.
I looked it up...looks nice...not to mention grammy's favorite color is red. It may be more than we want to spend (since we have to get her a convertible car seat too), but it's on the list!
for the car seat I would get the Cosco Scerena. it's super cheap, like $50 and a perfect no frills seat for grandma's car. we have one in MH car and its great.
I saw that the Cosco Scerena was recommended for grandparent use in our Baby Bargains book, but I was thinking of going with the Evenflow TitanElite because it's only about $30 more and goes until 65lbs (Cosco is 40).
This makes sense, but just FYI the average 40 lb child is 5 years old. Of course yours may weigh more or less, but by age 4 or 5, most kids don't need a stroller too often.
The Cosco Scenera and Evenflow we were talking about are convertible car seats (not strollers). Sorry...the thread took a turn toward the car seat which was probably confusing.
Ahh, gotcha. I was thinking I had never heard of either of those strollers.
