2nd time + Moms - is it different?

Are you feeling different now than with your first? (if you can remember)

I am far more crampy than what I remember, and have low back pain which I didn't with DD. I also have really sore boobs which definitely didn't happen with DD.

Hoping to avoid the nausea this time around!

Re: 2nd time + Moms - is it different?

  • I'm feeling mostly normal so far. With DS, I had really sore boobs and really oily, greasy hair in the beginning. Right now, I'm just really irritable and I've been getting headaches and am starting with the lower back pain. So yes, I would say it's different!

I'd also like to avoid nausea. I didn't get much at all with DS- just felt sick for a couple weeks (week 6 and 7) and that was it. I remember brushing my teeth was a challenge because I would gag every time. Hopefully I can be that lucky again though and not get it too bad this time!

  • So far the only symptoms I have are tender boobs and a headache. I had bad nausea from 9 to 12 weeks with both my girls so I wont know for a while probably. I am much more nervous this time around because I am more informed about it all.
  • Feeling about the same. My boobs are a little more sore and I find I'm more tired at the end of the day because having to deal with students and the DS is wearing me out. Sydsmom04, I find I'm the opposite. I'm more relaxed because I know what is happening (for the most part).
  • For everyone one of my pregnancies, I get fatigue, and sore boobs, the nausea was not as bad the first pregnancy, second..I could not keep a thing down, thrid pregnancy, I was not sick much at all, this 4th pregnancy, we will see..I think all symptoms fluctuates with  each pregnancy. With my DS I was glowing all the time, with my DD I  thought I looked like hell. They say that a baby girl will steal your beauty during pregnancy! LOL.  But really all symptoms for me  each pregnancy, have been different except fatigue and and sore boobs.

I can understand that and as far as like the process and being familiar with it all yea I am more relaxed but I am not as naive about all the risks and things that *can* go wrong during pregnancy. The feeling of not being in control sucks.

  • I really don't have any symptoms yet which is the same as the last pregnancy. I am hoping that i won't have any back pain this time. I remember that starting early.

  • I definitly feel like I have more energy this time, I hope it lasts a while! No nausea yet, last time it started around 5 1/2 weeks, so time will tell!

  • I have nausea that I never had the first time.  I am less tired this time and my boobs are not sore which they were the first. So different so far.
  • I feel more or less the same as last time - at about this time I had gross heartburn and started having nausea, and that's how I feel now.

What's different is that I am EXTREMELY tired all day and I had much more energy the first time around. Fatigue was one of the reasons why DH told me to test in the first place. And I'm SUPER cranky (another reason he told me to test).
