Carys or Cerys

I see it can be spelled both ways, just wondered which variation folks here think is the best.

  • I am naming my daughter Carys.  Cerys just doesn't look right to me.

  • I have never seen this name spelled Cerys, and for some reason, the "e" makes me want to pronounce it "Serr-us" with an "s" sound.

  • I've only seen Carys (pronounce care-iss). To me, Cerys would be pronounce differently... like cirrus (the clouds) or kier-iss.

    "Right" is relative, for if you read MJ's comment in this thread you will see that it can be and is spelled both ways, just as I noted in my original question.

    Now, if you are saying spell it the way YOU think it looks right, then that's something else.
