I know it's for the best interest of myself and twins, and for the doctors to be careful, but I'm so frustrated with what seems to be overkill concern and appointments. I average 1-2 Doctor appts a week! How did those of you get through it? I feel like I'm a huge walking siren in these places! I know it's best but it is frustrating!

Why do you have 1-2 appointments a week?
That's pretty ridiculous. I only had one a month until about 16w when I started seeing the MFM monthly too. So an appt every 2w (alternating OB and MFM) until I was about 28-30w, when they got more frequent.
Do you have other risk factors? That would explain the frequency, but that still sounds like a lot.
I agree that sounds exsevive. I was very high risk (triplets and had DS early) and never went that much. I went every 3 weeks that early at around 16 weeks went every 2 weeks and at 26 started every week do to issues had and then PTL. Even at end I only went 1 timea week with climbing bread pressure and everything.
Is there something else going on?
Do you have some sort of specific problem that needs such close monitoring so early? I know my OB isn't planning on seeing me that frequently until 3rd tri.
My twins were discovered at 11weeks, and I've been seeing the OB every 3-4 weeks. After my next appointment, which is next week, I'll be going every 2 weeks, until 3rd tri, when I'll go every week. I get an u/s at every appointment, and they check my cervix, but other than that, nothing out of the norm. I have no preexisting medical issues though, and neither do the babies.
Yes, I agree with the others. This certainly sounds like overkill to me. With a month left to go is when they went to once a week with me... like any normal pregnancy. Do you/twins have any other issues that may resort to you needing to be watched more closely? The only difference with my appts. is that I have more u/s than I did with my other singleton pregnancies & I only see doctors as opposed to midwives.
If you or the twins don't have issues that you know of, I suggest asking as to why you're inundated with appointments.
Mother to:
Aidan William (3/19/09)
Laila Monet (1/5/11)
Ava Selene & Chloe Corinne (2/6/12)
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
We have an MFM appointment every other week - standard for their practice. DW goes to the endocrinologist every 6-8 weeks to check levels. No OB.
Oh my./.. I would start going crazy.... I saw my ob at 16 weeks that was when I was finally able to make an appointment and KEEP it and found out we were having twins and then at 19 weeks found out SUPRISE triplets..
SOOO I have always seen the MFM every other week except for the month only say them on the 16th just because EVERYTHING is doing great!! But starting on the 3rd of Feb. I have every week appointments so really I got a two week break but I loved it I was able to work for a full two weeks without switching stuff around at work!!!! I do have to agree with PP that early seems kinda crazy, MFM is watching out for the babies and your health but some times it just feels time consuming!!!
I wish you the best of luck and I hope VERY soon you dont have to go to ALL those Dr.'s appt's and can JUST REST... Sending LOTS of T&P and a VERY VERY HEALTHY pregnancy!!!!
