rash on daughters chest this am... have you seen this?

My daughter woke up with a little rash on her chest- it looks like little hives.  We didn't feed her anything different last night or use any different products on her so I am not sure what it could be.  she doesn't feel warm and it doesn't seem to be bothering her at all.  Some friends of mine had mentioned a milk rash- any other ideas or should I just take her in?

Thanks  in advance!

  • Dry skin??  Do you bathe DD every night?  Ds gets little red bumps on his belly, thighs, and arm pits when his skin is dry.  I use an ecsema cream on it and it clears right up.

  • There is a virus called roseola that almost all little ones get at some point, but most never even know they have.  They run a bit of a fever for a day or two, and then when the fever breaks they get a rash. (SOME get a rash, not all.)  Rash is usually not bothersome.

  • Ds did have that too. But he ran a high temp for 2-3 days before and his rash was itchy so the Dr said to give him Benedryl to help with the itch.

  • My DS had that this week. He felt really warm for a couple days (but no fever rectally) and then yesterday had a rash on his chest and back. The Pedi said it looked like it could be roseola but since his fever wasn't high he thought it was just a virus that had to run its course. He seems better this morning and slept better than he had been last night so hopefully it's on its way out. Just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or she starts a fever bring her in.

  • Hand, foot, and mouth disease maybe? My DD had it a couple weeks ago. The doctor said that the bumps didn't necessarily have to be on her hands, feet, and mouth. She had them everywhere. Hands, feet, mouth, face, chest, stomach, arms, legs. We gave her oatmeal baths and those seemed to work wonders.

  • Could be a lot of things.  DD had red bumps, they weren't bothering her just there.  We took her to the doctor after they didn't go away for three days, turned out to be strep!  No fever, doc looked in ears and throat they all looked fine, eating/sleeping fine, but it was strep.  We were shocked, we had just been out to breakfast with her a couple of hours before, that's how not sick she seemed.  Not saying that's what it is, but I would at least call the doc.
