BETA UPDATE -- Well, I POAS'd before beta...

Update: Just got the call. HCG <1. The nurse told me to stop the Prometrium. So much for that. Going to go cry and wait for DH to come home....

And got one of my usual stark white one-line specials. I guess I have an 8% chance of it being a false negative at this point, so I'm not out until I hear the beta results later today. But, obviously, it's not looking good.
As DH said after I climbed into bed and told him, "Why is this so hard for us?"
Yeah, and how did we end up here? Everything was going so well. 34 eggs! We were supposed to have plenty to freeze so that even if this failed, I wouldn't have to go through stims and ER again. I swore up and down I'd only do IVF once but now it's looking like it's on to IVF #2 -- or no kids.
The worst part is that in the past couple of days I'd really managed to convince myself that this had worked, despite the 5dt no-blast disaster.
If the beta comes back negative, I think I should make a T-shirt: "I went through IVF hell and all I got were these lousy boobs." (Trying hard to keep a sense of humor and hope here.)
Sigh. Thanks for letting me rant a little.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.
Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

Oh sweetie. I just hope it's too soon for a pee stick to tell. I am proud of you for keeping a sense of humor about it though! And hey, if it makes you feel any better at all, I think they might have a better plan for IVF 2 knowing what they know now so your chances for that time around might be better! I hope you don't have to get there though. (((hugs)))

oh Lynda - I'm so sorry. And I completely understand the fear of doing this again (strangely it seems to get easier though....maybe I'm just used to it - which is sad)
But I don't know if this helps or not - but I do have an IRL friend that got 46(!!) eggs on her first IVF - and ended up with nothing to freeze either and a BFN. She is now pregnant from her second IVF (and got some to freeze too). I hate to say that the first IVF is a learning experience - but sometimes it is.

I'm so sorry sweetie. That just sucks so bad and the egg issue as well. I was so sad to hear out of that many eggs and everything going so well, that none made it to freeze. I can't understand how that can happen.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers and I just hope that you get your miracle soon.

Ah crap. I know this is an impossibly hard time for you. I just wanted to commend you for trying to have a sense of humor. I'm sure the emotions of the next few days are going to be strong, no matter what the results are...I'm happy YH is supportive, but you are allowed to get upset and angry and sad and also have a sense of humor, try again, etc. I don't want to be preachy, but I put a lot of pressure on myself to remain happy and upbeat about my BFNs during the first year and a half, and I've learned that if I let myself get enraged for a few days, the rest of the month seems to go better.
My everything is crossed for you, but thank you for sharing your POAS results. That was brave of you.

I am so, so sorry. I know there's nothing anyone can really say to you to soften the blow or truly make this better. Make sure you take time for yourself before you jump back into everything again - that's really the best advice I've got.
