We went to a cracker barrel last night and they were very helpful when I told them we could not have dairy. They actually have a list of allergy free menu items and what to suggest to people with allergies. The waiter gave it to me so I could look at it as I offered. I just paid attention to the diary free section - but it had a blurb about the top 8 and also said that it didn't recommend any fried items because of cross contamination.
We ended up getting pulled pork bbq with wheat toast instead of the biscuit and green beans and carrots. of course, my LO just ate DH's french fries. (I'm not super concerned about cross contamination because she just has a dairy intolerance)
Right now I am working at a starbucks (wireless) and they have absolutely no info about allergens. WTF? I've looked online and nothing. So I guess I'm going to be hungry for a while. :

Oh wait - I found it online! It didn't come up in a google search, but I went to their website and you can actually sort their menu by excluding allergens. pretty cool. Now I'm eating some pumpkin bread and not starving anymore.
