Have any of you heard of this! It's an exercise program where Moms can come with their strollers and babies.
https://classes.strollerstrides.net/buffalony/location/index.aspx I just heard about it tonight and wondered if any of you have done it or knew someone who had. Sounds like a cool concept but I'm not sure how it would be to try and exercise with a toddler or baby stuck in a stroller next to me.
Re: Stroller Strides
Isn't pushing a stroller enough of a work-out? Just kidding.
I saw a couple classes before - one was at the Galleria before the stores were open and the other was near my house, which happens to be very close to Baby Sweet Beginnings. Maybe that was the starting point? I thought it looked like fun.
I've done stroller strides for the past year. I LOVED it. It was a great workout and I am a definitely someone that is in shape and thought it was going to be mall walking. I was in for a huge surprise the first week I went and was sore for 3 days afterward. I was also training for the Buffalo half marathon at the time so I was in pretty good shape.
The workouts during the summer were even more intense since we got to run hills outside. We did a lot of resistance cord training, squats, push ups, etc. It is sort of like one of those boot camp classes. There was also a dumbbell class on Mondays that was great for upper body. My kids loved it and I made some great friends through it. That said, the owner who was there for 3 years just transferred her ownership to a new girl. I went to a few classes with the new girl and the intensity and overall atmosphere just isn't the same. She is actually going on maternity leave pretty soon and I think Kelly (the original owner) is going to be back to cover for her so I will probably go back for awhile. I need to get a really great workout for it to be worth my time and effort to pack up both of the kids and get there bright and early.
I never paid monthly. You can buy a 10 pack for $100 so that is what I did. Sometimes I would go 4 times in a week and other times it would be 3 weeks between classes. Kelly was also really great at tailoring the workout to your ability and fitness level. If you were pregnant or just had a baby she would give exercise modifications.
