  We have been facing tough economic times for a little over a year now so I cut back a lot than: no more pedi/mani, Burlington and Ross over Macys and Bebe, etc.  We also downsized our home, use coupons, and learned to LOVE Walmart.

  Now things are actually getting better but I haven't really changed my thrift habits.  It is nice to realize you don't need all of those things.  We now are using the extra money to replenish emergency funds and to have a little fun.

  We are definetly eating at home more.  We used to eat out atleast 2x on the weekends alone, and now we are lucky if we eat out 1 time a week.  It's definetly helped so far.  We have also not bought a lot of new clothes.  If we decide we need new clothes we go for the cheaper store other than where we used to shop.

  We eat out a lot less and I have cut other random spending (clothes, etc) way down.  I've always been a coupon clipper, but I'm even more of one now.  I've also been more careful with turning lights off, turning off AC/heat when its not needed, and other things that save money and help the environment.

  we re def cutting back.  not much eating out, i had to curb my amazon/old navy/ shopping in general habits, we also now track all our spending to see where its going exactly and what we can do better.  i m a major bargan shopper and usually do as much consignment shopping as i can for ben and esp for us.  i m also trying to plan meals a week ahead so that we can limit our trips to the store for "just" whatever (which always ends up being 27 other things too).

  Thankfully we both have jobs that haven't currently been affected by the economy. Actually my job becomes more busy as criminal activities increase as the economy gets worse. We haven't cut back but it got us thinking more seriously about how we spend. We def feel more vulnerable. I really pray that this turns around soon. I have a lot of family members who have loss jobs due to GM. (i live in Michigan - it's becoming very depressed here) 

  I got pregnant with PCOS after many years of IF! Thank you Lord!

  This is slightly different for me, because we are in another country, but we have cut back as well, because moving and having one income does not equal lots of extra money. We go by the "do we have to have this" rule. The only thing I am going to break that rule on is a new diaper bag, which I need desperately.

  Thursday QOTD: With the bad economy are you cutting back?  What are you cutting?
   

  Well, I haven't had new clothes since my son was born.  We rarely eat out and I am clipping a lot of coupons these days.  My DH even got a second job so that I could be a SAHM!!!  We never travel anymore and no mani/pedi's or expensive trips to the salon.  I have been dying my own hair even!!!!  It won't be forever and it is worth it!

  I am a SAHM - in Aug I started watching another child in our home 2 days a week.  The extra cash is a huge help and covers groceries & gas for me. 

  Originally I planned to only BF for 6~10 mos, but it has gone so well & formula is $$$ I am not stopping.  We use cloth diapers (started @ 2 mos) & the savings on that has been realized as well. 

  I clip coupons & shop sales.  We welcome hand-me-downs!
  

  I just went through all of my pre-baby clothes, shoes & handbags and I am taking a ton of stuff to a consignment shop.

  Stopped getting manis when DD was born because I didn't want to be putting nail polish in her mouth- I think I have gotten 2 or 3 pedi's since she was born.

  I used to get my hair highlighted but since moving to a new area I couldn't find anyone I like, so I decided to stop and I dyed my hair back to what I hope is my natural color myself.

  We are definitely trying to do more with less.

  Tuesday QOTD: 9 months later how has your post-partum body adjusted? well things aren't "the same" but everything is pretty good.  i fit into the pre-preg clothes, but i bought a bunch on new clothes 'cause now as a mom...i don't want to wear certain styles...

  
  Thursday QOTD: With the bad economy are you cutting back?  What are you cutting? we are lucky enough right now that dh and i are working and we have a very modest life style.  nothing has changed for us.  in fact...i have been back to work for 4.5 months now and things are even better for us...
