I went for my 18 week ultrasound yesterday to find out the gender (it's a boy!!!) and for the anatomy scan. While I was there they noticed that the baby is measuring 19.5 weeks. When I first saw my doctor they said that I'm due June 18th but then when I went to my 6 week ultrasound they said June 25th and then when I went to my 11 week ultraound the baby was measuring 5.9 cm and it should've been closer to 4.1 and now my baby is measuring a week or so ahead of time. Does this mean anything? Did they maybe get my due date wrong and maybe it'll be a week early? I know that they will not change my due date. Anyone else have their baby measuring big?
Re: Baby measuring ahead of time, what does that mean?
babies go through growth spurts all the time...
at 23w mine was measuring 4 days behind...
then at 24w he was measuring 1 day ahead...
it changes all the time...
This... It's completely normal.
Could be a growth spurt, could just be a big baby, or if you aren't sure when you O'd then your dates could be off a little. Either way, it's nothing to worry about.
For me, DS measured ahead the whole pregnancy. My dates were 100% accurate, as I was charting while TTC. He was born eight days early at 9lb 7oz... he was just a big boy! What matters most is that LO is healthy. Dates being off a little is really no big deal.
