*sarahjames* and other curly girls

I need mom-friendly ideas for styling my curls - HELP! My hair has been short (shorter than my shoulders) for almost 3 years, and now I've gone a bit long again (few inches past shoulders), but I have no idea what to do with my hair, and I'm sick of it always being tied up in a sloppy nest.

  • I started using Keratin products...this has made a world of difference!  I have really long hair and I can wear it down almost every day when using this.  It's pretty amazing if you haven't tried it.

  • No, I don't mean like that. Actually, I use and love Deva products. (https://www.mydevacurl.com/) I have good curls, just looking for something to DO with them. I wear a lot of headbands and things, but hoping for some ideas on different ways to wear it other than just down all the time. Something to feel "fancy."

  • I have super curly hair as well and lately I've been putting it in a loose low ponytail or a low side pony.  I also have been wearing it half-back, which helps because I have some layers around my face and it keeps the shorter pieces out of my eyes when I'm attending to LO.

  • My go to is applying Redken ringlets while it is wet and air drying (I mean do you think I have time to blow dry?) Then when it's dry I put cute barettes or bobby pin type clips in. Just a little back so curls still surround my face but it gets the bang area out of the way for practicality.

  • Honestly, my hair is crazy! I can't seem to find time to do more than messy bun or messy pigtail buns! It's my go to look, no always a good one? Eh, I don't mind.....
  • Girrrrl, it is all about the "rake and shake" Ouidad technique! Once you put the effort into defining the curls with product, then diffusing or air drying them, you can get like 3 days wear out of them. It is the only way I do curls. Once you get them pretty, then do what pps have mentioned like half up or side ponytails. You can check out Ouidad's website for a tutorial on the rake and shake!
