Now, that I have a few minutes, I'll type this while it's all fresh in my memory. Well, as fresh as it can be. Once things started really happening, they happened SO fast. We literally didn't have time to get our bigger camera out and DH had to use the cell phone. It worked, not the best quality, but it worked.
On Monday the 24th, it started with a huge chunk of my MP coming out at 10am. Since with DD1 that was a good starter I had a pretty good feeling that it would help things along the way. Through out the course of the day, I lost another good sized chunk of plug and started having irregular contractions.
It wasn't until 7pm that night when I was making us dinner that I happened to peek at our stove clock and noticed that two of them seemed closer together. I began timing them. They were, at the time so all over the place, I knew it wasn't time to go. DH, DD and I had a quiet dinner then we headed up stairs to relax. DD was watching her Bubble Guppies and I decided to take a soak while DH and she counted and sang along with the show.
I didn't really start timing contractions again until I got out of the tub and settled into the bed comfy. I had no idea at the the time we'd be leaving that night for the hospital. I continued to time them and watched as they got not only closer but more intense. By midnight I decided that we needed to go in. But, we sort of piddled around. DD1 was already sleeping, I took my time dressing, DH showered and we honestly didn't get to the hospital until about 2:30am. I walked in and they had us head up stairs where they got us settled into a very nice delivery room. The nurse checked me and I was sitting at 4cm. My dr said admit me, she goes fast (lol, boy he had no idea just HOW fast. None of us did.) and they got me set up with an IV for fluids and got me some water and ice. And, good Lord was I ever thirsty!
Contractions picked up steady from there. I hadn't had any meds, no epi so I monitored the time and intensity of each. By 5, I was entering the burning of the intensity stage. She was dropping. And, apparently she dropped fast because by 5:20, I called the nurse. I was having the urge to push. BAD. She got in the room at 5:25am and checked me. I was only at 8cm so, there was no pushing for me. I told her the baby would definitely be here soon and asked her to call my doc. She gave him a rang and for 10 min I had to fight the urge to push during each intense contraction. Every one was as strong as the last and were lasting a good minute. Sydney was moving down so quickly the fight was hard on me. But, thank God for my DH and the nurse who coached me how not to push. During one rather intense contraction, my water broke. At 5:35 my doctor walked in the door. He gave me a quick listen to and the nurse checked me. 10cm. DH said I asked if I could push now and my doc said, "push kiddo." I began pushing as he was getting his gear on. By 5:46am Sydney Lane made her big debut! She was 8lbs 5.8oz and 19.5 inches long.
She is beyond beautiful and we are so in love. DD1 is calling her "baby C" and seems to already love big sister duty.
I ask for continued prayers my blood pressure stays under control. We got the bottom number to 78, finally but I'm certainly worried about it since I've had some swelling and headaches that they're having me monitor at home.
Now, without further ado...I give you Sydney Lane ?

Sorry there are so many, I couldn't pick. I know I look awful in the family one, lol.
