Totally normal for a breastfed baby to wake in the night for feedings. I don't think it's normal for them to wake every 2-3 hours but 1-2 times a night is fine.

My almost 9 monther started at 6 months. However he goes through phases of still waking to eat once a night every so often. It can last a 3 days to a week. So my point is it's still normal for your 9mth old to be waking up.
I did and still do sleep train. CIO for 10, go in and soothe, repeat until he falls asleep. At this point I know he is nursing enough during the day and he eats 3 huge solid meals a day...so I don't think he is really hungry. Sleep training is not for all but it is for me! GL
My 9 month old doesn't sleep through the night and I don't think he is any where close to it. He doesn't eat many solids yet , and since he started crawling he needs more calories.
I don't believe in sleep training and we bed share. For right now it works for us. You are not alone!
DS1: 4/15/2011
Dx: ASD, SPD and receptive and expressive speech delay at 21 months

I am happy that I am not the only one... he also sleeps with me but he wakes up at least 5 times at night to feed.
