My LO has hearing loss and some speech delays (phonological, etc., but not vocabulary). He already attends speech therapy, but I was just looking for some fun educational apps for him. Any suggestions? He is 3...
Both of my children attend a communication and sensory preschool and they use a lot of different apps. The SLP's that run the school told me that they have a lot of luck with the free talking animal apps (e.g. Tom the Cat, Gina the Giraffe, etc.) because they force the kid to talk to make the animal talk and they mimic pitch, soft and loud, etc.
I use Pictello for making visual schedules and social stories. My kids also really love the CJ music apps for the Wheels on the Bus and 5 Little Monkeys and will sing along to those and they have lots of visual cues.
I agree on the Talking Tom app - it's cute. Tap to Talk and Speak For Yourself are good apps to help them learn to point to pictures to get the words they need.
I have a whole sheet on apps that DS's speech therapist gave us. If your interested in the list I can post it here or email it to you.
There are a few hearing impaired mommies on this board, myself included. Could you post the list here, if it's not too much of a hassle? It would be a great resource! Thanks!
