Has anyone tried isagenix?

I recently got to know this woman in my industry who also sells isagenix diet supplies. I asked her what it was all about and she provided me with a Facebook support group. There were tons of women talking about how much weight they have lost and how much they love it. I googled it at work and read some horrible reviews, including people who claim to have suffered digestive issues from it. I'm not looking to lose a ton of weight, but could afford to drop 20lbs or so. Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

  • We all wish there was an easier way to lose weight and be healthy than actually just making good food choices and being active.... unfortunately, there really isn't. Don't buy into these "get skinny quick and easy" scheme, if they work they will ruin your health. If you are planning to ttc, you are much better off with an extra 20 lbs than having starved yourself for 6 months prior.

The main issue is many of these work by suppressing appetite and increasing your temperature so you burn more calories. If you eat less frequently, your metabolism will slow and it is difficult to reverse. So when you stop taking the pills, which you will eventually, you will gain the wait back plus some. Try eating 6-7 very small but healthy and balanced meals a day and adding in simple exercise. It is a lifestyle change and will make a huge difference not just in weight but how you feel. Eating small meals frequently eliminates the feeling of heaviness and bloating that comes from overeating. You also should not be eating your largest meal at night before just sitting around and sleeping.. this is the biggest pitfall of the American diet... well that and junk food.

If your main issue is not having the energy to exercise, there are some quick fixes that might help you jump start your efforts. I have known many people who had luck with nanovapor and other pre-workout boosters. These are not for long term use though and do not TTC when using them. I don't really recommend them at all... eating healthy and more often will give you a great boost in energy.
  • That's kind of what I have been seeing online. Lots of people lost weight but many said that it all came back when they stopped. I do go to the gym, not as much as I'd like to but I get there a couple times a week. I was just curious since the people in the group I was invited to seemed thrilled with their results. Many were doing cleanses.... I see friends on Facebook talk about doing cleanses here and there but my DH says they are not healthy. Does anyone have experience with cleanses of any kind?

They're not only unhealthy, they can cause kidney and liver damage and screw with your metabolism. You have kidneys, a liver, a gallbladder etc that cleanse your body just fine on their own.

  • Isagenix is NOT a pyramind scam, it is NOT a get skinny quick fad diet.  As someone that suffered from an auto immune disorder I have used the system to help me regain my health like nothing else can.  It makes me so sad to hear people spouting off like they have an idea when they don't know the first thing.  The products are the most high quality, the company does not compromise when it comes to the strength and ingredients used.  It is not and was not intended to be a diet.  Yes you will lose weight but the primary purpose of the system is to rid teh body of built up toxins that contribute to to things like diabetes, excess weight, infertility, asthma, cancer the list of autoimmune diseases go on and on.

As for the business it most certainly is not a pyramid scheme.  It's an actual business that you can either run with and become on of the their 100+ (and growing) million dollar earns, or you can sit back and watch others grab onto the opportunity and you can just complain.  It's not a glorified lottery ticket it's network marketing.  With a big emphasis on WORK.  Like anything else in life you have to work at it.

If you are really interested check the facts, the real facts, not someone who has no idea what they are talking about but willing to spout off misinformation.  There are even independent medical studies and a newly set up study with Skidmore University.

The best and safest way to lose weight is to eat healthier and exercise.  Lots of veggies, fruits, lean meats and whole grains.  Make sure to do cardio and weight training to maximize your results.

Fad diets simply don't work.  They are dangerous to maintain for long term.  You have to commit to make a lifestyle change to eat better and work out.  Something you can do forever.

    Edited for spelling error...

    Network Marketing = Pyramid Scheme.

Oh and way to bump a 5 month old thread.

-So you would say that Avon and Mary Kay are also scams?

Yes. And 31 Handbags, and Pampered Chef and Jamberry and all the candle parties and scented house wax things and you name it. "Home business" where you have to purchase a kit and hit your friends and family up to host parties or become members = scam.

  • My coworker is on isogenix...I had never heard of it til she went on it. I mean I assumed it was not that good for you cause many of those systems aren't but @DebateThis‌ has made some scary statements about the product. I wish my coworker (whom I adore!) didn't wish this was the only way for her to lose weight :(

I would like to know about how @DebateThis thinks that it damages you liver?
I use the products, for a year I've been using the Isalean Shake and Product B vitamins. It really seems to make me feel better and I haven't had any bad side effects. I actually just get to the doctor to get a full physical done which tested my liver, kidneys, heart, etc. and everything came back completely normal. Nothing to worry about.

There are terrible things in almost everything we consume. So unless you only eat organic foods, never drink the tap water (or cook with it or bath it in), breed your own animals for meat, and wear a mask when outside - you are going to be consuming something that is bad for you.

I've never got into the business side of it, It never interesting me in that faction. I know I am not a sales person.
I would not called it a pyramid scheme though. It is a different business model from regular corporations, sure, but that doesn't mean it is a scam just because it's different.
Instead of paying millions in advertising, these companies are spreading the wealth around by pay people to be the advertising. And "hit you friends and family up"  is what people do that don't really know how to do network marketing. That is why most people think it is a scam because they say "No one wants this product, this company is BS and I was lied to" Those type of people are just looking for a quick paycheck, a lottery ticket if you will. To be successful in that business, is you have to treat it like a business. I know I do not have the time nor the patience to do that, so the selling side is not for me.

But I've done a lot of research on The Isagenix products and I find nothing to be alarmed about.

I tried to sell Tastefully Simple. It was a total waste of my money and time.

If you've done any "research" at all you know that A)Isagenix is a bullshit multilevel marketing scheme, just like Tastefully Simple, and MLMs are pyramid schemes. And B) cleanses are incredibly hard on your liver and kidneys. They're also more bullshit. Your liver and kidneys don't need your help "detoxing". If they do, you need to see a nephrologist or a hepatologist, not someone shilling shakes out of their car.

And your comment about only eating organic and everything else is bad for you is a logical fallacy. There are things that you can consume that are the healthiest, there are things that aren't great for you, and there are things which are useless and can actually damage your body - cleanses/detoxes, including Isagenix fall into that category.

Well coming from a person that have been drinking the shakes everyday for over a year, I can say that I am in good working condition, no damage has been done to my body. And of course if you use the cleanse products all the time it would probably damage your body. Everything can be bad for you in large doses.
Also, our opinion is your opinion about mlm. Obviously you have a deep seeded feeling toward them that research and facts will never change.
But the products themselves are not a scam.

BHAHAHAH. For one, it's deep SEATED. For two, do you want real research and facts? My "opinion" is backed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, hundreds of lawsuits, and the National Association of Attorneys General. The loss rate for MLMs is 99.9%. You have better odds betting on black in Vegas, quite literally.
