Re: Midwife

  • My friend used Jessica Arno for her home birth VBAC and was very happy with her.   Her website is https://www.newbirthing.com

If your looking for a hospital birth I have another friend who used Lonestar Midwives and was very happy with them.  They deliver at St. Lukes Baptist in the Medical Center.

I have also heard great things about Lonestar Midwives, but I don't have a specific recommendation for you since I'm not using their services.

  • Lonestar Midwives!! All of the ladies are soo nice and they make the whole experience of my first pregnancy, a great one. I did the whole ob/gyn thing and switched over to Lonestar at about 20 weeks, and I am SO glad I did. Their website explains their bios and all that good stuff....Good Luck!!

  • Joi Brock is awesome she was my Doula with my first I delivered 10 lbs 2 oz all natural it was a wonderful experience. I can wait for her to deliver the one thats due anyday now.

    Check her website out www.birthworld.com

  • I will second the vote for Joi Brock!!!  I'm also a licensed midwife (taking a momma break from practicing midwifery) and she was my midwife for all three of my babies!  She is amazing!  So much so, that I direct ALL potential clients to her!!

((Also, please research your choice of midwife very well, there are some doulas around saying that they are also midwives, when they are in fact, not! In Texas, a midwife MUST be licensed by the state of Texas, to be able to use the title "Midwife" and offer midwifery services.  And FYI Jessica Arno does NOT have a Midwifery License.

Here are the rosters of current midwives:  https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/midwife/mw_roster.shtm

And the link to any disciplinary actions taken against midwives in Texas:  https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/midwife/mw_enforce.shtm

Always be informed when it comes to your baby!!))

Best of luck in your birthing!!!  You will love having a midwife!
