Weird peeing - WDYT?

I noticed over the past day or so that when I feel like I have to pee, I go, but my stream has slowed. It feels like I have to go pretty bad, but when I go it's not coming out as fast, but still coming out... My back and side have been hurting regularly for a few days now but that has happened on and off through my pregnancy. I have had UTI's before and usually would get burning, frequency, urgency with not a lot of pee.

Has this pee thing happened to anyone else? I just wondered if it was normal. I also feel additional pressure down there but when I did my ultrasound over the weekend they said the baby was really low. So not sure if it's just the baby and pressure causing this or if it wouldn't hurt to call the doctor and get a urine test for UTI?

Thanks ladies!

Re: Weird peeing - WDYT?

  • I've had uti feelings for a couple weeks on and off. My Dr said it was normal and didn't test me. It only happens when baby moves because she is low too. I'd guess you're ok, but to be safe talk to your Dr.

  • I think it's normal.  I get the trickle sometimes too, it's super annoying.

  • Try lifting your belly when you go.  When this happens and I lift the belly, it starts to come pretty quick!

I think it's just baby/uterus/etc too much on your bladder.

  • Ok - I feel better now. I will try the belly lifting :)

I also have a bladder disease so I often have peeing problems but this one was new. My babies head has been real close to the cervix on my last 2 u/s. I also noticed last night when she was moving that I literally felt like I was going to pee in my pants and had zero control! Oh and I am super constipated. Love being pregnant!

  • Yep.....it's pressure from baby, happend with DD #1 the last trimester.

  • I would still have the test done, personally. If you're having the back and side pain, that's a pretty good indicator. If it is a UTI and you let it go untreated, it could spread to your kidneys and cause all kinds of issues with you and the baby. If I were you, I'd call.

  • My midwife said this is due to the baby moving position and putting pressure on your pelvis, i also get this feeling when baby rubs on my cervix.
