Even though I'm on natural birth #3, I still love reading my favorite pregnancy and birth books! Tonight I picked one up from the library that I haven't read before. It's called "Homebirth in the Hospital; Integrating Natural Childbirth with Modern Medicine", by Stacey Marie Kerr, MD. I just started it tonight, but am so enjoying it so far. It's really nice to hear a doctors perspective but also see how she shares the respect for the birth process and a womans ability and power while labouring that is often held by MWs. The majority of the book is birth stories, all of which take place in a hospital, but not all of which are med-free. I think it'd be reassuring for anyone nervous about delivering in a hospital or anyone dealing with the results of a previous labor that didn't go the way they wanted. She really respects the birth process no matter what happens.
Anyway, just thought I'd share...
