Somebody help me calm my nerves please?

So I found out last week that we are expecting again and super excited but I'm incredibly nervous. We haven't told anyone yet except immediate family this time around. Every time I feel something down south I get paranoid that I'm going to miscarry. I have my first appt on Thursday which will be 5wks 1day.

Anyway, it's not constant or anything but ever since I found out I occasionally have some CM that's colored, sometimes red but mostly pink or brown. Nothing blood like but more gooey looking... is this normal? I don't remember if I had this when I miscarried back in Sept or if I just started more bleeding like my cycle...

Ugh, I hate this feeling of being on edge constantly! Guess this turned into a worried vent but thanks for reading anyway.

  • Congrats!  When I had my m/c, it was immediately pretty obvious - bright red blood and lots of it.  From everything I've heard, what you're experiencing is totally normal.  Good luck, and I KNOW it's hard not to worry.  I spent the first few months this time running to the bathroom everytime I felt anything.  Tongue Tied

  • Could it be implantation bleeding? Or the implantation bleeding working its way out? Lots of dust that it's nothing serious! After last night, I know how you feel! ((hugs))
  • like the pp's said, i think it's normal. but of course anything colored makes you nervous, especially with past losses. congrats and lots of sticky baby dust!!

  • Congratulations! Color isn't always a bad thing. Like PP said, it could be inplantation bleeding, and it could just be normal pregnancy related stuff. **Happy and healthy 9 months!**
  • Congrats! Happy and Healthy 9 months.
  • yay, yay, yay!  And stick, baby, stick!

  • Congrats!!!! I had spotting off and on during the first tri with this baby. It made me worry like crazy (how can it not??), but I was always told that unless it's bright red AND you're cramping it's not a problem. I'll be sure to hold lots of good T&Ps for you and your bean. H&H 9 mos to you!!!
  • Congrats!!!  And yes, it can be normal.  Hang in there!!  fwiw - I bled (red) for a good part of my first tri with our second. Super scary but all turned our ok.
  • yay congrats!  I was always told pink or brown are a-okay red you should call about.  Of course you will now hold your toilet paper in all kinds of light to determine the color!

  • Congrats!  I've had friends with the same issue and they were told it was normal.  H&H 9 months!
  • Congrats!  That sounds normal as long as it isnt bright red blood.

  • No advice, but just wanted to say you are in my thoughts and prayers that everything continues to go well!  I can relate to being on edge constantly.  I keep hoping that once 12 weeks comes I can relax!
