So, you know how all of our weekend plans for the past ksjhdfh months included open houses? Well, we made an offer on a house yesterday. And it was accepted this morning.
Congratulations! Real estate is so painful around here...glad you found something you love!

Kershnic, the hope is that she'll still be with us... In fact, there have been rumblings about her renting our condo. We'll see how it shakes out - our main reservation is we don't want her to move from where she is now (it's too small for her family, but it's a great location and, because they've been there for a long time, REALLY affordable for our area) when we don't know what our situation will be in a year. Will we really keep the house AND the condo? Will we decide, in a year, that we don't want to be landlords (landLADIES! ) and end up inadvertently screwing her because she'll end up without an affordable place to live if we have to sell? So many questions, so little time... The race has begun!
