Growth spurt question

Does a growth spurt always involve eating more frequently? DD has been sleeping a lot more today than she has since she was born.

Can a growth spurt only involve an increase in sleeping instead of eating?

    This could be just the start of it with increased eating still to come.  If i remember correctly, my DD had a day where she did nothing but sleep and then not long after she started eating more.

    Lovely, haha. I hope she doesn't start eating more when I have to fly home in a week. I might just leave my boob out during the whole flight Stick out tongue

    I've noticed with DD that when she is going through a growth spurt she is suddenly sleeping tons and then a day or so later she is a hungry, hungry girl. 

    We just started one yesterday...she wanted to sleep for hours yesterday and she still slept through the night. Now this morning, suddenly 5ozs wasn't enough for her.

    After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011!
