Hello! Does anybody use this delivery service for grocery shopping? I'm thinking that shopping with a 2 year old and a newborn won't be much fun. Is the delivery fee really only $5 with a $50+ purchase? I'm sure that I spend over $5 on impulse buys so this might even save us money.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
Re: NBR: Corbones Delivers
I did use it for awhile and it was pretty good. I have started using Byerly's delivery ($10) and I LOVE it! I feel like the produce is still much better. Although Coborns wasn't bad either. Byerly's also has a pick up option where you order online and go through their drive thru to pick up - that is $5. In my opinion, it's well worth the money to not have to drag your children to the grocery store. I have one that is 2 and a newborn as well.
The nice thing about Byerly's is you can make lists. So if you order the same things every week, you could make one list for that. It also saves all your past purchases, so the more you shop the easier it is! I can't remember if Coborn's does that also, but it's a HUGE time saver once you've done starting shopping online.
We use Coborns and love it. You can buy a pass that makes the delivery a bit cheaper. Otherwise I know when I signed up I got 3 months free delivery to give it a try.
I think their produce is ok, not great but not bad. The few times I have had problems they have corrected the situation right away with either a refund or redelivering a fresh product the next day.
It is a huge time saver to sit on the couch and do my grocery shopping while getting other things done. Plus I have found I plan meals better.
I love it. You can also pay a little more for same day delievery if you are early enough if the day
I agree Lunds has better produce for the most part, but Coborns isn't bad.
We used it a lot last winter when the weather was so awful I didn't want to go out with my toddler. Then I was on bed rest this summer and used it a lot then as well.
Since #2 was born we have used it more again.
I do like the drive thru options Lunds offers, but many times I am not that great of a planner and need my groceries sooner than they can offer them to me.
I feel like I cannot get everything I need/want with Coborns or Lunds so it is supplemented with Co Op runs too.
With two little kids, unless you can get out by yourself to get groceries- order online!
Both stores let you keep a list and your previous orders are stored so you can easily check the items you buy frequently. Saves time once you get your list established.
I also find it saves money because you can see the totals add up. Also helps for planning meals and cuts down on non essential items (read chocolate bars at check out line
)
Good luck
